August 1, 2000 I registered for my china this past weekend. It took two hours just for china!! I can't imagine how long it would take to do other stuff at that store. The lady who helped my mom and me was really nice and she had great taste in table decor. I told her what kind of stuff I liked and a price range I didn't want to go over and she arranged a beautiful set of dishes which were exactly what I was looking for. I recommend Dillard's to other brides (if available). Not to mention they give you an excellent book which you can use throughout your marriage. :) I noticed I broke my registry list up by categories into different stores. I had no intention of doing that but it just happened. Dillard's has china and flatware, Williams-Sonoma has miscellaneous kitchen items and Target has bed and bath linens and other household goods. I couldn't have been more organized if I had planned it that way. Is there something that you recommend that I must register for or something that I shouldn't register for? If so, email me at [email protected] . Our invitations have arrived. We are going to pick them up tomorrow. It only took a week to get them! I'm impressed!! I can't wait to see them! August 7, 2000 The invitations are gorgeous!! I'm so happy that they turned out so nice! I will start addressing them next weekend. I have about 2 months to get them finished. I finished decorating the wedding bubbles this weekend. That has to be one of the most tiring and boring things to do before the wedding. (Ask me in a month and I'll say the invitation top that.) I finished 100 bubbles minus the two the cats decided to carry off when I left the room. I met with the baker last Thursday and we decided on the final cake designs. The brides cake is similar to the picture that I have posted but instead of real roses we are using icing roses (my mom and I, along with others, love icing flowers). On the top there will be tiny rosebuds surrounding Cinderella and the Prince. I can't wait to see the final design. Each layer is going to be a different flavor!! Butter cream on the bottom, strawberry in the middle and basic white on the top two layers with butter cream icing. Yummmmm!! John's cake will be the basic chocolate on chocolate. He is having a layered octagon shaped cake with a Smurf bride and groom. :) It's going to be sooooo cute!! We have finally planned the honeymoon out. We're so excited to have a vacation although we'll miss our cats terribly. We'll be leaving the morning after the wedding and driving to Florida. We've decided to save some money (we don't want to go into more debt for the honeymoon) so we're going to take a road trip to Disney World and Sea World. It'll be fun! August 14, 2000 Well, I haven't started on the invitations yet. I have to order lined inner envelopes first. The lady who took my order didn't order those for us but that's ok. I have plenty of time to get them and plan on it next weekend. I meet with the florist again to go over new colors in two weeks. I need to start shopping for baskets for the reception. I have to finish the table decor also. I'm half way through with that now. (I have the hard part done) I've started having nightmares about the wedding now. John says I'm just stressed about things being perfect. In my dreams, everything that can go wrong, went wrong. I don't feel stressed about the wedding. I actually feel quite calm and relaxed since I have most of the stuff done. I start a new job next Monday. . .talk about stress!! That's the only thing I'm worried about now. Anyway, since I'll be starting a new job, I probably won't be able to update this page on a weekly basis, specially since John starts teaching again tomorrow. I'll have to find a way to beat him to the internet access during the week. Try to look for updates at the beginning and mid- month. As of this coming Friday (8-18), there are only 3 more months to go!!
