JAMES ANDREW WEISHUHN

James Andrew Weishuhn was born on October 31, 1856 in Lobo Township of
Middlessex County, Ontario. Lobo township is south and east of London, Ontario
about 20 miles. He was the first child born to Henry W. Weishuhn and Mariah
Markle.

He moved to Maple Ridge, Michigan with his parents in 1878 when he was 22
years old. He worked as a farmer during the summer and worked in the woods as
a Lumberjack during the winter mounths, north of Maple Ridge in the Oscoda
areas He married Anna Marjorie Nixon on December 20, 1882 in Maple Ridge,
Michigan. Anna was born in Goderich, Ontario and-was the daughter of 1/16/1865
Allan Nixon and Catherine Maley who were both born in 1828 in Ireland. Anna
had brothers Alex, Tom and Bill and the family also lived in Maple Ridge.
Allan Nixon did not come to the U.S. and remained in Goderich. She had two
sisters, Catherine, and Margaret. Anna came to Michigan in june of 1879. She
arrived on the Ship "Kevinan" from Goderich to Bay City, Michigan. She was
met by her brother Alex and they walked and rode horseback the 57 miles to
Maple Ridge.

During their lifetime, Jim and Ann had nine children; two boys, andseven
girls. Iri his last years Jim and Ann and the younger girls lived in Turner,
Michigan. Jim died on October 12, 1924 from Arte. I was only three years old
at the time but I remember that they lived in a large house by the railroad
station and the funeral services were held in a building with wooden storm
windows that were opened for light and air. Ann stayed in Turner for several
years and then lived with her children until she became ill. She died on Sept.
7, 1957 in Hurler Hospital and is buried next to Jim in Richland Cemetery near
Prescott, Michigan.

The following pages list the Children of Jim and Anna and all of their
descendants.

Annas mother, Catherine died April 6, 1883 at Maple Ridge. She was 54 years,
11 months and 5 Says old. She is buried in Cedar Valley cemetery. Her son
William, born July 1, 1854 was killed in a fall from a lumber train on August
30, 1901 and is also buried in Cedar Valley Cemetery. Anna died Saturday,
September 7, 1957 in Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan, following an illness
of two years.

1. VIOLA MAE WEISHUHN, was the first child born to Jim Weishuhn and Anna
Nixon. She was born on April 79 1885 in Maple Ridge, Michigan. Viola married
David Adolph Bergquist on April 25, 1906 in Tuuler, Michigan. Dave was born on
March 23, 1886 in Prescott, Michigan and his parents mere Gust Bergquist and
Mary W. McKim. Gust was born in Sweden in 1858 and Mary was born in Canada in
1862; both of her parents mere born in Ireland. Dave was a farmer during his
early years and had a "truck farm" near Romulus, Michigan during the 20s. His
sons helped with the farming and they sold their produce at Central Market in
downtown Detroit. He later became a Methodist Minister and was the pastor of
the First Westlyn Methodist Church in Marion, Michigan. Dave fell from a
makeshift ladder and injured his back and was never well after that fall. He
later contracted heart trouble and "Parkinsons Desease" and died on August 4,
1933 in Weidman, Michigan. Dave is buried in Richland Cemetery near Prescott,
Michigan.

Viola later married Milt Sawyer in August of 1936 and they lived in Marion
until Milt died in 1960. Milt is buried in Avondaie, Michigan. Viola then
suffered a stroke and was confined in the Ardis Nursing home in Farwell,
Michigan, where she died on March 7, 1961. Viola is also buried in Richland
Cemetery.

During thee lifetime, Dave and Viola were the parents of seven children, and
they and there descendants are as follows.

1.1 HAROLD EDWARD BERGQUIST, was the first child born to Dave Bergquist and
Viola Weishuhn. March 18, 1907 near Prescott, Michigan.

Harold married Margaret Gertrude Callahan in April 1927 in Romulus, Michigan.
Margaret was born in 1910.

Harold and Margaret divorced and he then married Mildred Lucille Sheehan in
1951. Mildred was born on March 4, 1915. Mildred was previously married and
her husband had died in 1944. She had two sons from her previous marriage who
are; Daniel Arthur Johnson, born July 22, 1933 in Garden City, Michigan and
Terry George Johnson, born on November 2, 1938.

Harold is retired from the Ford Motor Company where he held many management
positions during his career of years. He was very active in Masonic activities
Dearborn #172 until he developed fluid pressure on his brain which effected
his mobility. He has been confined to a nursing home since 1979. He died on
February 1, 1983 and was laid to rest in Cadillav Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

His first wife Margaret died on December 31, 1968 and is buried in Glen Eden
Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan.

Harold was the father of five children; three of his children are from his
first wife Margaret, and two are from his second wife Mildred.

The descendants of Harold Edward Bergquist and Margaret Callahan and Mildred
Sheehan are as follows:

1.1.1 Donna Jean Bergquist, was the first child born to Harold Bergquist and
Margaret Callahar, Donna was born on November 12, 1927 in Dearborn, Michigan
in Hospital. Donna married Eugene Jacob Walker on July 6, 1946 in St.
Rapheals Catholic Church in Garden City. Donna and Gene divorced in 1974 and
she then married Frederlck Reinhold Heise on April 15, 1979 in Angelica
Lutheran Church in Alien Park, Michigan. Fred born on September 4, 1923
Devils Lake, Dakota and his parents were Herman August Willhelm Heise and Emma
Bertha Huth. Fred is employeed by the A.R.A. Food Services Corp. as Operations
manager. Donna now does clerical work for an engineering company.

1.1.1.1 Andrea Lynn Walker born November 25, 1948 in Providence hospital in
Detroit Mighigan.

Jack and Andrea live in Dexter, Michigan where he is a Licensed Electrician.
They have two children who are as follows.

1.1.1.1.1 Julie Ann Strieter, born September 11, 1974 in St. Josephs Hospital
in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

1.1.1.1.2 Laurie Elizabeth Strieter, born July 15, 1976 in St. Josephs
Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

1.1.1.2 Stephgn Allan Talker was the second child born to Gene talker and
Donna Bergquist. Steve was born October 22, 1950 1n Rovidence Hospital in
Detroit, Michigan. Steve received a B.S, Degree in Chemistry. Steve married
Jilt Ann Palenski on June 21, 1975 in Mercy Center Chapel in Farmington Hills,
Michigan. Steve and Jell live in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Steve and Jilt are
the parents of a son who is listed below.

1.1.1.2.1 Mat Stephen talker, born November 11, 1981 in Oakwooa Hospital in
Dearborn, Michigan.

1.1.1.3 Timothy Eugene Walker was the third child born to Gene Walker and
Donna Ber6quist. Tim was born on December 20,1 956 in Annapolis Hospital in
Westland, Michigan. Tim attended High School and has also completed training
in computer processing by the Control Data Institute. Tim married Maria Amata
Marson on October 17, 1981 in Angelica Lutheran Church in Alien Park,
Michigan. Tira and Maria live in Alien Park, Michigan and are expecting a
child in April, 1983.

1.1.1.4 Mary Margaret Walker was the fourth and last child born to Gene Malker
and Donna Bergquist. Mary was born on March 3, 1959 in Annapolis Hospital in
Westland Hospital. She went to the University of Michigan

1.1.2 Frederick Donald Bergquist, born February 3, 1932 in Dearborn, Michigan.
Fred was born mentally retarded and is living in a "Family living Home" in
Lapeer, Michigan.

1.1.3 Gerald David Bergquist, third child of Harold Bergquist and Margaret
Callahan, was born on August 6, 1939 in Providence Hospital in Detroit,
Michigan. Gerald married Barbara McDonald. Gerald and Barbara divorced and
Gerald married Helen.

1.1.4 Harold Edward Bergquist Jr. was the fourth child of Harold Berguist Sr.
but the first son of Mildred since she married Harold Sr. He was born February
3, 1953 in Harold Jr. married Kathlees Lomas. Harold Jr. is a supervisor at
the Ford Motor Company and is now divorced from Kathleen. Kathleen and Harold
had a daugnter who is listed below.

1.1.4.1 Kristy Kathleen Bergquist, born May 23, 1972.

1.1.5 Randy Lee Bergquist, was the second child born to Mildred Sheehan and
Harold Beragquist Sr. He was born, August 12, 1954. Randy is single, and works
as a research technician for the Ford Motor Company.

1.2 LLOYD ALBERT BERGQUIST was the second child born to Dave Bergquist and
Viola Weishuhn. He was born November 16, 1908 in Prescott, Michigan. Lloyd
met Ruth Evelyn Ulrich at the Westlyn Methodist Church where Dave Bergquist
was the Minister. They were married on July 30, 1930 in Dighton, Michigan.
Ruth was born, November 1, 1908 in Gratiot County, Michigan, and her parents
were Lloyd worked as a supervisor for the Ford Motor Company and he also was
in the gas appliance business as well as farming. Lloyd was afflected with
Diadetes and died on December 2, 1974 in He is buried in and Ruth lives in
Marion, Michigan Lloyd and Ruth did not have children.

1.3 EVERETT BERGQUIST, was the third child born to Dave Bergquist and Viola
Weishuhn. He was born, May 16, 1911 in Prescott, Michigan. Everett died as a
baby of two years on July 30, 1913 from Cholera.

1.4 RALPH DAVID BERGQUIST, was the forth child born to Dave Bergquist and
Viola Weishuhn. He was horn, November 1, 1913 in Prescott, Michigan. Ralph
married "Dort" Dorthea Wood on September 5, 1937 at 2:00 PM in the home of
Dorts parents in Weidman, Michigan. After the cememony, the wedding party went
to a dance at Bass Lake. Dort was born in Pontiac, Michigan and her parents
were Howard Wood and Flora Ralph and Dort are retired and live in Mt.
Pleasent, Michigan. During his working years, Ralph worked in sales and owned
several businesses in the food and mercantile industry. Ralph and Dart are
active in the church and he is a 32 degree Mason. Ralph and Dort were the
parents of three children, and they and their families are listed below.

1.4.1 Unnamed infant son, born September 27, 1939 and lived for about five
hours.

1.4.2 Janet Bergquist, second child born to Ralph Bergquist and Dort Wood, was
born, July 20, 1942 in Janet married Richard Potter. Richard and Janet live in
Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and are the parents of a daughter who is listed below.

1.4.2.1 Karen Potter, born April 3, 1969.

1.4.3 Robert Duane Bergquist, third child born to Ralph Bergquist and Dort
Wood, was born November 9, 1943 in Bob married Irene. Bob and Irene live in
Portsmouth, Rhode Island where he is a carpenter. they have two children who

1.5 GILDA VIAE BERGQUIST, was the fifth child born to Dave Bergquist and Viola
Weishuhn. She was born, December 19, 1916 in Prescott, Michigan. Gilda
married Orvis Richard Cook on August 2, 1934 at home in Weidman, Michigan.
Orvis was born in Weidman, Michigan on August 2, 1910 and his parents were
Herman Coch from Germany, and Theda Smitho Orvis is retired and he has worked
as a farmer and in the oil fields near Weidman, where they live at the present
time. Orvis and Gilda were the parents of three children who are listed below
with their families.

1.5.1 Jack Eugene Cook, was the first son of Orvis Cook and Gilda Bergquist.
He was born, August 8, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Jack narried Sonjia
Lee Hardenburg on June 30, 1956. Jack works for a manufaturing company that
makes machinery for machining wood products in Winn, Michigan. Jack and Sonjia
were the parents of three children who are listed below.

1.5.1.1 Jack Eugene Cook Jr. was the first child of Jack Cook and Sonjia
Hardenburg. He was born November 27, 1957.

1.5.1.2 Gory Lee Cook, was the second son born to Jack Coot and Sonjia

1.5.2 Richard Lee Cook, was the second son born to Orvis Cook and Gilda
Bergquist. Dick was born, June 23, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Richard
married Marion Jean Freeman on June 23, 1956 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Dick
and Marion have a farm near Weidman and they are the parents of four children,

Freeman. Sandra was born, June 23, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Sandra

1.7 NAOMI JEAN BERGQUIST, was the seventh and last child born to Dave
Bergquist and Viola Weishuhn. Naomi ads born on August 16, 1922 in Prescott,
Michigan. Naomi married Willis Emerson Borders on December 23, 1939. Emerson
was born April 25, 1917 in Sidney, Ohio, and his parents were Waldo Emerson
Borders and Bessie Merle Ellis, Emerson and Naomi live in Marion, Michigan
where he is a real estate broker since his retirement from the Michigan Gas
Storage Company where he worked for years. Emerson is a member of Masonic
Lodge. Emerson and Naomi were the parents of three children and they are
lasted below with their families.

1.7.1 Judith Kay Borders, was the first child born to Emerson. She was born on
November 2, 1940 in Providence Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Judy married
Kenneth Robert Carperter on May 13, 1961 in the "Back to God" Chapel in
Marior, Micnigan. Ken was born on June 17, 1937 in Trufant, Michigan and his
parents were Donavin Carpenter and Evelyn Johnson. Ken, Judy, and family

Naomi Bergquist. Jim was born at home in Marior, Michigan on October 14,

2.0 RESSA MARIA WEISHUHN, was the second child born to Jim Weishuhn and Anna
Nixon. Ressa was born Sept. 8, 1889 in Maple Ridge, Mi. Ressa married William
Gordon Anderson on July 30, ?? 1906 or 1907 in Prescott, Mi. Bill Anderson
was born July 24 in Wigtown, Scotland and his parents were William Anderson
and Anne Belle Orr. Bill and Ressa Liver in Prescott, Mi. and owned a hotel
there for serveral years until about 1929 when they moved to Flint. Bill then
work for Chevrolet Bill developed cancer of the stomch and had a large part of
his stomach removed at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor in
1935. He lived until July 19, 1944 when he died after the cancer spread to
other vital organs. Bill and Ressa divorced prior to his death in 1940 and
Ressa married ? Johnson. In later life, Ressa lived in Flint, Mi. and then
entered Kith Haven Convalscent Home where she died at age 76, on Sunday Feb.
7, 1965. Ressa was a deeply religious person and she North Baptist Church,
the Royal Neighbors of America, the Maccabees and the Rebekah Lodge. She is
buried in Tipton Cemetery in Tipton, Mi. Bill Anderson was buried in Richland
Cemetery.

Ressa and Bill had four children, and they are listed below with their
families.

2.1 Cecil Leroy Anderson, was the first child born to Bill Anderson and Ressa
Weishuhn, Cecil was born April 13, 1911 in Presco, Michigan. Cecil first
married Jane Mattis on October 24, 1935. Cecil and Jane divorced and he then
married Doris Meyers on October 24, 1959 in Cecil and family lived in the
Tipton, Michigan area for 43 years prior to nis death, and he retired from
Tecumseh Products Company in 1969. Cecil was a member of Tecumseh Masonic
Lodge and attended Tipton Commun- ity Church. He was also a member of the Sand
Lake Volunteer Fire Department and was past vice president of the United
Products Workers Union. Cecil died from cancer in Herrick Hospital in Tipton
on February 2, 1972. Masonic funsral services were held and he is buried in
Tipton Cemetery.

2.2 Ferris Clifford Andersor was the seccnd child born to Bill Anderson and
Ressa Weishuhn. Ferris was born March 12, 1913 in Prescott Michigan. He
married Helen Josephine Luck on July 12, 1940. Helen was born July 30, 1922 in
Tipton, Michigan and her parents were Herman Willian Luck and Anna Bertha
Huebner. As a youth, Ferris worked at the Chevrolet plant in Flint, Michigan
and during the great depression of the 30's he was in the Civilain Conservation
Corps in northern Michigan as a Barber. He later moved to Tipton where he met
and married Helen Luck. Ferris worked for the Tecumsseh Products Company in
Tipton for forty years before retiring. His hobby is painting, and he is a good
artist. He and Helen live in Tipton during the warm months and in Palm Harbor,

New York, and his parents were Jesse H. Clark and Grace Wilson. Don is a
retired Sales Engineer for General Motors Corporation and they live in
Lockport. Don and Marjorie also have a home in Avon Park, Florida where they
spend part of the year. Don is very handy with woodworking and carpenter
work, and does remodeling and furniture refinishing on a part time basis.

3.WALTER ALEXANDER WEISHUHN, was the third child born to Jim Weishuhn and Anna
Nixon. Walt was born on September 9, 1890 in Maple Ridge, Michigan. Walt
married Maude M. McCurdy on November 12, 1927 in Turner, Michigan after a
courtship that lasted for many years. Walt and Maude lived in Alien Park,
Michigan for several years while he worked for the Ford Motor Company in the
steel rolling mill. The basement of his house in Alien Park was a favorite
meeting place for the men in the family at holiday gatherings, as Walt usually
had a batch of "Home brew" available for samplin3. In the meantime Maude would
be upstairs cooking up chicken and dumplings for everyone to stuff thierselves
with. Walt and Maude later bought a farm near Prescott, Michigan and Walt
would work at Fords during the week, and drive "Up north" on week-ends to
farm. I remember an incident that happened re us on one of those trips when
the left back wheel of his Model A Ford came off in Waterford, Michigan and
rolled down the road, hit the steps of an old hotel, bounced up in the air.
high and landed on the roof of a Chevrolet, crushing the top. I also remember
that Walt and my father knew every "watering hole" between Detroit and
Prescott and they had many friends that they had to stop and say "hello" too.
Another thing about Walt was that he could dance the "Irish Jig" very good,
and whenever ne and his cousin Charley Weishuhn got together, you could expect
to see some good jigging. Yes, the Weishuhn' s of those days Prescott. He was
a Mason and belonged to Lodge # 471 in Dearoorn, Micnigan. Maude remained on
the farm for a few years and then moved to Flint where she remaimed until she
also died in her sleep on December 11, 1965 at age 73. Maude is buried next
to Walt in Richland Cemetery. Walter and Maude had one son who is listed

married Jacquelyn (Jackie) Fizell on November 25, 1955 in Flint, Michigan.
Jackie was born on August 9, 1935 in Bayfield, Wisconsin and her parents were
Mill Wright. Glen and Jackie live in Flint and Glen works for Chevrolet. He

Don Wallace McKay on September 25, 1913 in Alpea, Michigan. Don and jena met
wnile both were workin3 in Prescott, Michigan. Don was working for his uncle,
Jim McKay in the McKay Bank, and Lend was working for her uncle Dick Weishuhn
in the Weishuhn Hotel. Don was born on August 27, 1883 in Caro, Michigan and
his parents were William McKay and Mary Mackie. Dons father had been the
Sheriff in Caro and also a Michigan State representitive. Don worked
throughout his lifetime in various clerical jobs, and several political
appointments as he was active in the Republican Party. The family lived in New
York City at one time and Don managed a auto dealership. Later Don and Lend
were invited to come to Florida by Ike Weishuhn, and they lived in Stuart,
Florida for six years before returning to Michigan. In later years the family
lived in Highland Park, Michigan and Don died in Henry Ford hospital in
Detroit in Nov. 1945. He is buried in Indianfields Cemetery in Caro,
Michigan. Lend lived in the Masonic Home in Alma, Michigan for a few years and
passed away on October 22, 1980 at age 87. Lend is also buried in Indianfieids
Cemetery in Caro. Den anti Lend had one son who is listed below with his
family.

4.1 JAMES MACKIE MCKAY, born March 13, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan. Jim married
Marguerite (Margaret) Catherine McDougal on October 26, 1946 in Highland Park,
Michigan in Highland Park Presbertarian Church. Margaret was born on February
1, 1920 in Highland Park, Michigan and her parents were Nicol McDougal and
Catherine Flynn. Jim has been in the banking business all of his life and has
held several management positions during hie career. He has worked in Detroit,
Vassar, and Saginaw, Michigan. Jim and Margaret presently live in Vassar and
they were the parents of two sons who are listed below.

4.1.1 Robert (Rob) William MacKay, born March 25, 1950 in Highland Park,
Michigan. Rob has attended both the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and
Michigan State University in Lansing, and has a Masters Degree in Geography.

Michigan State Atlas. He then went to Oregon and taught Geography at Portland
State at present he is living in Manhatten, New York and is working for the

4.1.2 Donald Wallace McKay, born June 30, 1952 in Highland Park, Michigan. Don
married Kathline Elsie Waiters on September 4, 1976 in Ypsilanti, Michigan,
while he was attending the Michigan State University in Lansing. Kathline was
born March 10, 1952 and her parents were Alfred Edward Walters from Suttons
Bay, Michigan and Marjorie Anderson from Superior, Wisconsin. Don and Kathline
met while both were students and Kathline also graduated from Michigan State
University. Den has continued his studies and has a Masters Degree in Animal
Husbandr and also a P.H.D. in the same field. Don has accepted a position in
Newfoundland, Canada and is living in St. Johns, Newfoundland and working for
Memorial University.

5. FLOYD MILFORD WEISHUHN, was the fifth child born to Jim Weishuhn and Anna
Marjorie Nixon. Floyd was born on December 5, 1895 in Maple Ridge, Michigan,
and as a youth he worked in the woods with his father during the winter months
and helped with the farm during the summer. He joined the Army during World
War I and was in the 77th Division, Headquarters Company, Bombers and Sappers
Platoon, stationed in Battle Creek, Michigan. After the war ended he went to
Flint, Michigan to work and met Ruth Priscilla Hierlihy. Thet were married in
Flint on May 17, 1919. Ruth was born on October 22, 1899 in Bellaire,
Michigan and her parents were William Lewis Hierlihy and Maggie May Bingham.
Floyd and Ruth lived in the Detroit area from 1923 to 1946 and Floyd worked
mostly as a toolmaker during that time. He also was a Detoit Policeman from
1925 to 1928. In 1946 They moved to Bellaire, Michigan and bought a Sunoco
Service Station. Ruth became ill from cancer, and died in Little Traverse
Hospital in Petosky, Michigan on July 9, 1946. Floyd then sold the business
and returned to Dearborn where he lived until he died of a heart attack at
hom3 on November 28, 1954. Both Floyd and Ruth are buried in Lakeview Cemetery
in Bellaire. Floyd was a active Mason on Dearborn Lodge # 172 and also a
Knight Templar. He was also Past Commander of Don&ld R. Park Post # 313 of
the American Legion in Detroit. Floyd and Ruth were the parents of three
children who are listed below with their famlies.

5.1 JAMES JUNIOR WEISHUHN, was the first child born to Floyd Weishuhn and Ruth
Hierlihy. Jim was born on AlJgust 23, 1921 in Hurler Hospital in Flint,
Michigan. Jim married Helen Manos On April 21, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio.

5.1.2 James Ronald Weishuhn, was son second son born to Jim Weishuhn and Helen
Manoss Jim was born on September 1, 1943 in Florence Crittenton Hospital in

athlete, and played semi-pro football for the San Perdo Mauraders. Jim first
married Susan (Dusty) Erhardt on October 31, 1962 in Long Beach, California.

Michigan. Marlene graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn and then met
and married Edward Martin Kolodziej on April 25, 1959 in St. Alphonsis Church
in Dearborn, A barge reception followed at Hall in the Polish tradition which
lasted for many hours. Ed was born on February 21, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan
at the faimly home on Cnopin Ave, and his parents were Jacob Kolodziej and
Catherine Kusiowski, who were both born in Poland. A tragedy happened in Ed's
family when his father was killed by a hit and run driver on Michigan Ave. on
August 15, 1975. The guilty party was never caught. Ed attended Chadsey High
School and went to work for McClough Steel Corp in as a timekeeper. He
continued his education and received a degree in Business from Wayne
University in Detroit. Since that time he has held several management
positions with the company, and is currently the pension and retirement
administrator. Ed and Marlene live in Livonia, Michigan and are the parents

Standish. She later taught school in for years oefore moving to Flint,
Michigan where she met and married Clarence Henry Irvin on April 29, 1922 at
the Court Street Methodist Church in Flint. Clarence was born on February 2,
1896 in Bellfonte, Pennsylvania, and his parents were William Irvin and Myrtle
Miller. Clarence' s father was killed in 1902 in Buffalo, New York while
working in a steel mill. After their marriage, Clarence and Margaret moved to
Arnbridge, Pennsylvania wher Clarence was a milkman for many ysar6. After his
retirement they returned to Michigan and now live in Flint. Margaret and
Clarence were the parents of one son who is listed below with his family.

went to work at a golf course on Grosse lie near Detroit. It was while she was
working at the golf course that she met Cart Leslie Erickson. Cart was also
working at the golf course as a mechanic. Edith and Cart were married on
October 31, 1925 at west Branch, Michigan Cart was born on October 4, 1900 in
Prescott, Michigan and his parents were Tneadore Rickson. Cart and Edith
remained in the Detroit area for several years and Cart worked for Timken Oil
Burner Company. They decided to return to Prescott, and bought a farm there,
where they lived until Edith died. Edith suffered from arthuritis and
Parkinsons Desease Cart later marr led Aretha Find er on September 11, 1971
at Pescott, Michigan where they live at present, Edith and Cart were ths

were from Wisconsin. Mike worked for many years at Ganeral Motors, includ ing
management positions in Flint, Lansing, Chicago, and Kansas City. His work was
associated with "Drop forge" operations. Mike retired from General Motors and
moved to Tecumseh, Michigan where he became a security officer at Tecumseh
Products Company. Mike suffered a heart attack and was taker to Herrick
Memorial Hospital in Tecumseh where he died four days later on September 13,
1956 at age 64. He was a member of the First Baptist Churchly a member and
past worthy patron of the Eastern S-ar, and a member and p past high priest of
the Royal Arch Masons. Mike was buried in Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris,
Michigan After Mikes death Ann lived in until her health began to fail. She
was staying in River Bend Idursing Home in Grand Blanc, Michigan, when she had
to be taken to McLaren Hospital where she died on December 19, 1978. Ann was
buried on December 28, 1978 in Flint Memorial Park next to her husband, Mike.
Awn was a member of the Eastern Star. Ann and Mike were the parents of two
children and they and their families are listed below.

8.1 BENJIMAN WALTER VIELE, was born on February 28, 1928 at home in Flint,
Michigan. Ben married Georgieana (Georgie) Alice Dicaire on June 11, 1949 in
Flint, Michigan. Ben was a member of the Michigan State Police fob several
years and was stationed at several posts. Ben did not like the moving around
from post to post, so he resigned from the State Police and went to work for
the the State of Michigan Department or Motor Vehicles in Lansing. He
remained with the department until he had a heart attack in 1977, which caused
nim to retire. In 1978, he dad Gpen heart surgery and several coronary
by-pass arteries were implanted in his hearts He never fully recovered and
suffered angina pain, which the surgery was supposed to correct. He went to
Palmetto, Florida to look at property in a warmer climate, and while there, he
had a fatal heart attack on March 22, 1970 in Restaurant in Bradenton,
Florida, after having dinner with his uncle and aunt, Harold and Alice
Schmitzer. Bens funeral was attended by many of his fellow Michigan State
Police Officers, who escorted the procession to St. Joseph Gemetery where Ben
was buried. Georgie has remainsd in Lansing and is working for the Lansing
police department. Ben and Georgie were the parents of eight children who are
listed below with their families.

8.1.1 Donald Benjiman Viele, was the first child born to Ben Viele and Georgie
Dicaire. Don was born on July 8, 1950 in Lansing, Michigan. bon rrlarried
Jean Alice Klienhans on August 8, 1970 in Lansing, Michigan at St. Casimir
Church. Don is a Policeman in Lansing. Den and Jean are the parents of two
children who are listed below.

8.1.1.1 Andrea Elaine Viele, born June 11, 1977 in St. Lawrence Hospital in
Lansing, Michigan.

8.1.1.2 Benjiman Richard Viele born April 29, 1979 in St. Lawrence Hospital in
Lansing Michigan. Ben died suddenly as an infant (Crib Death) on October 22,
1879 at home and is buried in Dimondale Cemetery.

8.1.2 David Christopher Viele, was the second child born to Ben Velle and
Gerogie Dicaire. Dave was born on February 19, 1952 in Grand Haven, Michigan.
Dave married Lynn Janlne Ball on March 27, 1977 in Lansing, Michigan at St.
Casimir Church. Dave and Lynn have adopted two daughters who are listed
below. Dave attended Michigan Satte University and is an anlyst in the State
Department of Corrections.

married Debora Lillian Nayback on Juns 16, 1979 in Lansing, Michigan in St
Casimir Church. Stave and Debora have a daughter who is listed below. Stevc
is in the maintenance department of the Mackinaw Bridge.

8.1.4 Mark Joseph Viele, was the fourth child born to Ben Viele and Georgie
Dicaire. Mark was born on October 29, 1955 in Wyandotte, Michigan. Mark
married Susan Marie Ford on October 13, 1973 in Lansing, Michigan at
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Mark and Susan have a daughter who,is listed

Lansing, Michigan. Beverley and Jock were the parents of three children and
they and their families are listed below.

9.0 ALICE FREDA WEISHUHN, was the ninth and last child born to James Andrew
Weishuhn and Anna Marjorie Nixon, She was born on November 28, 1912, on a farm
in Burliegh Township of Iosco County, Michigan. For some unknown reason her
name was listed as Blanche Estelle Weishuhn in the county clerks office for
many years and no one seems to know who this mistake was made. Alice married
Harold Martin Schmitzer on September 24, 1930 in Bowling Green, Ohio. Harold
was born on November 6, 1906 in Birch Run, Michigan and his parents were
William Scnmitzer and Gertruae. William was born in Michigan in 1872 and was a
blacksmith by trade. Gertrude was also born in Michigan and married William in
1893. Harold owned and operated a Sunoco Service Station on Dupont Street in
Flint for many years and retired on January 1, 1961, Harold was been an active
Mason for many years and a member of the Clown Unit of Elfkuref Shrine Temple
in Flint. His clown costume is so clever he is selcom recognized his family and
friends. Harold and Alice lived in North Flint during the summer months, and
in Palmetto, Florida during the winter. Harold and Alice were the parents of
three childern who are listed below with their families.
 

9.1 Robert Harold Schmitzer was the first child born to Harold Schmitzer and
Alice Ueishuhn. He was born on December 8, 1931 in Hurler Hospital in Flint,
Michigan. Bob attended Flint Northern Eigh School and was on the football
team. He held the school record for extra points after touchdown that has never
been beaten. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps form 1951 to 1954 and was
Bob married Donna Marie Stead on July 12, 1952 in Oak Park Church in Flint,
Michigan. Bob took over the Sunoco Station when his father retired and has
maintained a very successful business. Bob and Donna live in North Flint and
are the parents of two others who are listed below with their families.

9.1.1 Susan Marie Schrnitzer, born Sepember 1, 1953. She married Gary Lee Huss
on May 28, 1977 at the First Presbyterian Church in Flint, Michigan.

9.1.2 Jannine Lee Schmitzer, born June 1 6, 1956 in Flint, Michigan. Jannine
married Wayne Donold Carpenter on January 1975 in the First Presbyterian Church
in Flint, Michigan. Wayne and Jannine are the parents of two daughters who are

Flint, Michigan. Carol married Delbert Glenn Seekings on April 10, 1954 in
Angola, Indiana. Carol and Delbert divorced and Carol married Gerald Ray
Ballard on August 24, 1974. Carol and Delbert were the parents of four
children who are listed below with their families. Carol and Gerry live in
Flint and Gerry works for the Railroad and Carol works for Fisher Body G.M.
Motor Division.

Carol Schmitzer. Paula was born on October 16, 1955in McLaren Hospital in
Flint, Michigan.

9.1.2.2 Linda Lee Seekings, was the third child born to Delbert Seekings and
Carol Schmitzer. Linda was born on August 4, 1960 in McLaren Hospital in
Flint, Michigan. Linda is making a career in the U,S, Navy and is specializing
in Ocean Technology.

9.1.2.3 Tina Ann Seekings, was the fourth and last child born to Delbert
Seekings and Carol Schmitzer. Tina was born on July 17, 1961 in Hurler
Hospital in Flint, Michigan. Tina married Bryan Wayne Isbell
on September 26, 1981 in the First Presbyterian Church in Fint Michigan. A
reception followed the ceremony at the Knights of Columbus hall in Mt. Morris.

9.1.3 Patricia Ann Schmitzer, was the third and last child born to Harold
Schmitzer and Alice Weishuhn. Pat was born on August 6, 1941 in Hospital in
Flint, Michigan. Dave and Pat live in Grand Blanc, Michiga n and are the

IDA CATHERINE WEISHUHN AND DAVID SHOWERS
AND THEIR DESCENDANTS

IDA CATHERINE WEISHUHN, was the second child and the first daughter born to
Henry Weidner Weishuhn and Mariah Markle. She was born on July 3, 1858 in Lobo
Township, of Midlesex County in Ontario, Canada. Ida married David Showers on
November 8, 1878 in Bay County. (Now Arenac County). Dave and lad were married
by George Cascallen and witessed by Lyman Alien and Ann Cascallen. Dave was
born on August 3, 1850, and his parents were; Micheal Showers and Hannah
MacPherson. There is some con fusion about his birthplace, as the 1900 Michigan
census record listed his birthplace as Canada, and that he became a naturalized
U.S. citizen, however nis death certificate states that he was born in
Michigan. After examininq the conflicting documents, I believe that have was
born in Canada and came to the U.S. in 10l7, and nis father was born in
Pennsylvania an his mother was born in Canada in the year of 1816. Dave and
Ida first lived in Standish Township, aand then to Clayton Township in Arenac
Count near Melita where they lived on a farm until about 1915, when they moved.
to anothwr farm just north of Lansing, Michigan. Ida died in Sparrow Hospital
In Lansing on March 15, 1928 from heart failure, and is buried in Markham
Cemeter (Also known as Grovenburg Cemetery) in Ingham County, near Lansing on
March 17, 1928. Ida was 60 year,4 months, and 17 days old at the time of her
death. Dave suffered a stroke just weeks after Ida died, and he passed away
on April 21, 1928. at age 77 years, E months, and 18 days. Hs is also buried in
Markharr Cemetery. Ida and Dave had seven children, and they and their
families are listed below; Dave had a brother Jim.
 

1. Maude Showers was the first child born to David Shov]ers and Idie Weishuhn.
Maude was born on December , 1879 of Clayton Township of Bay County (now Arenac
County), Michigan. Maude married Harry at Loveland. Maude and were the
parents of three daughters who are listed below.

1.1 Laura Loveland, Laura married Norman Wells, Flint Mi. Laura lives in
Flint.

1.2 Maude Loveland, Maude married at Franklin.

2.ESTELLA M. (STELLA) SHOWERS, was the second child born to Idie Weishuhn and
David Showers. Stella was born on July 18, 1886 in Clayton Township in Arenac
County, Michigan. (Melita) Stella married Don MacKay. Don was born in Bayport,
Michigan on 1879. Don was the brother of Or. Max McKay and Dr. Pinree McKay,
Optometrists, from Bay City. He was the owner of Special Electric Lighting
Company in Detroit. His company provided lighting for ths Michigan State Fairs,
Auto shows, and other exhibitions held in the Detroit area. His company also
installed the first electric traffic signal system in Detroit. In addition he
was involved in the development or the dial system used on the telephones for
many years. It has been said that Don was listed in Whos who in America in the
30s. Stella never had any children of her own, but was a very generous,
helpfull oerson and helped to raise several of the less fortunate family
members whon they lived in Detroit. Don drove a large Pierce-Arrow Sedan, and
I can remember them picking me up and taking me out to dinner several timss
when I was a young boy. Don and Stella moved to Dallas, Texas about 1950 as
Stella had developed arthrires and they felt that a warmer climate would be
better for her to live in. Don became ill and suffered for before he died on
1961. Has body was returned re A'Iichigan for burial in Elmlawn irem3tery in
Bay City. Don was or, active Mason throughout his lifetime. Stella is now
living in the Convalscent Center in Dallas and is very feeble at this time.

3.0 LYDIA J SHOWERS, was the third child born to Idle Weishuhn and David
Showers. Lydia was born on March 22, 1889 in Clayton Township (Melita) in
Arenac County, Michigan. Lydia married Laurence Berry on June 1907, and they
spent their first night in the log cabin of his father, Jacob Ferry. Laurence
was born on September 1, 1885 in Handy Township of Livingston County, Michigan.
At the age of ten he moved to Arenac county with his parents. They came by
train to Alger, Michigan and then rode the logging train to a village called
Shearer. Laurence was an expert wrestler in his youth and won many matches, He
moved to Turner, Michigan where his first children were born. About 1918 the
family moved to Delhi Township, near Holt, Michigan where the rest of their
children were born and raised. Lydia died on August 20, 1927 in Holt,
Michigan. After the death of Lydia on August 20, 1927, Laurence then married
Eve Showers. She was a daughter of James Showers and a cousin to Lydia.
Laurence died in Melbourne, Ontario (Close to Lobo where the early Weishuhn's
had lived) on January 6, 1956. His funeral was held in Holt, Michigan and he is
buried in Markham (Grovenberg Cemetery) beside Lydia. Laurence and Lydia were
the parents of ten children who are listed below with their families.

3.1 Richard Neville Berry, born August 28, 1908 in Clayton township. (No doubt
named afer his uncle, Richard Neville Weishuhn) Richard married Marian Flier on
October 23, 1927 and they were the parents of four children who are listed
below.

3.4 Greta Berry, born Dec. 20, 1914 in Turner, Michigan. Greta died when she
was seven years old on Nov. 20, 1921.

3.5 EALDA LORAINE BERRY, was the fifth child born to Lydia Showers and Laurence
Berry. Earlda was born on January 31, 1916 in Turner, Michigan. Earlda lived
near Holt, Michigan until her mother died in 1927. She then went to live with
her brother Richard in Lansing and attenaed school there. She married Hugh
Dining. Hugh parents were Hugh Dining Sr. and Catherine Knoodle. In their
later married life, Hugn and Earlda lived in Alger, Michigan, and were the
parents of four childrer who are listed below with their families.

3.5.1 BEVERLY ANN DINING was the first child born to Earlda Berry and Hugh
Dining. Beverly was born on November 9, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan.

3.2 CEYNETH BERRY, was the second child born to Lydia Showers and Laurence
Berry. Ceyneth was born on November 21, 1910 in Turner, Michigan. Ceyneth
married Frederick Russell Welch in 1930. Ceyneth and Fred were the parents of
three children who are listed below with their families.

Michigan. He died as a small child on December 21, 1920.

3.8 MARIAN BERRY, was the eighth child born to Lydia Showers and Laurence
Berry. Marian was born on March 12, 1921. She died as a baby on October 21,
1921.

3.9 LAURENCE FRANKLIN BERRY, was the ninth child born Do Lydia Showers and
Laurence Berry. Laurence was born on August 5, 1922 in Delhi Township of
Ingham County, Michigan. Laurence married Elizabeth Butler on July 16, 1941 in
Mullet. Laurence had attended schooA near Holt, Michigan. He then moved to
Camlachie, Ontario canada with his father. He then moved to Vallajo,
California where he finished school. He served in the U.S. Navy from April 3,
1946 to Febuary 8, 1943. Laurence and Elizabeth live in Grand Ledge, Michigan
and are the parents of three children who are listed below with their families.

3.9.1 Gene Franklin Berry, was ths first child born to Laurence Berry and
Elizabeth Butler. Gene was born on November 5. 1948 in Lansing, Michigan.

3.9.2 PAUL DOUGLAS BERRY, was the second child born to Laurence Berry and
Elizabeth Butler. Paul was born on December 8, 1951 in Lansing, Michigan.

3.9.3 NANCY IRENE BERRY, was the third and last child born to Laurence Berry
and Elizabeth Butler. Nancy was born on July 30, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan.

3.7 GUY BERRY, was the seventh child born to Lydia Showers and Laurence Berry.
Guy was born on January 8, 1919 in Delhi Township of Ingham County, Michigan
Guy died as a small child on June 16, 1922 in Delhi Township.

3.10 LOIS JANE BERRY, was the tenth and last child born to Lydia Showers and
Laurence Berry. Lois was born on August 19, 1924 in Delhi Township of Ingham
County, Michigan. Lois married Joseph Vincent.

4.0 MARY BELLE SHOWERS, was the fourth child born to Idle Wsishuhn and David
Showers. Mary Belle was born on September 19, 1891 in Clayton Township
(Melita) of Arenac County, Michigan. Mary Belle married Rolland Berry who was
a brother of Laurence Berry who married Mary Belle's sister, Lydia. Mary Belle
and Rolland were married on March 11, 1911. Rolland was born on September 20,
1889 in Handy Township of Livingston County, Michigan, and his parents were
Jacob Berry and Emma Stout. Shortly after Rolland and Mary Belle were married,
they moved to Munising, Michigan and Rolland worked on the building of ths
College of Mining there. Their first child, Roswell was born in Hartland,
Michigan and was named after Rolland's foreman, Roswell Carr. During the 20s,
Rolland worked at the Motor Wheel Corporation in Lansing, Michigan. He later
worked at the Phillips Machine and Screw Company until he retired in 1955.
Rolland died after a long illness on January 11, 1954 in Dimondale, Michigan
and is buried in Markham (Grovenberg) Cemetery on Dimondale Road. Mary Belle
died on March 19, 1980 in and is also buried in Markham Cemetery. Rolland and
Mary Belle wsre the parents of Twelve children and they and their famlies are
listed below.

4.1 ROSWELL BERRY, was the first child born to Rolland Berry and Mary Belie
Showers. Roswell was born on August 9, 1912 in Munising, Michigan. Roswell
married Alice Sandborn on 1934 in Lansing, Michigan. Roswell was in the U.S.
Marines in World war II and worked for Motor Wheel Corporation. Alice Sandborn
Berry died on 1955 Lansing, Michigan. Roswell and Alice were the parents of
four children who are listed below with their families.

4.1.1 LUELLA MAY BERRY, was the first child born to Roswell Berry and Alice
Sandborn. Luella was born on July 1, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan

4.1.2 Lavern BERRY, was the second child born to Roswell Berry and Alice
Sandborn. Lavern was born on July 4, 1935 in Lansing, Michigan.

4.1.3 Patricia (Patsy) Bsrry, wes the third child born to Roswell Berry and
Alice Sandborn. Patsy was born on September 12, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan.

4.1.4 John Berry, was the fourth and last child born re Roswell Ferry and
Alice Sandborn. John was born on September 27, 1943 in Lancing, Michigan.

4.2 J.D. Berry, was the third child born to Rolland Berry and Mary Belle
Showers. J.D. was born on March 14, 1915 at Hartland in Livingston County,
Michigan and died a month later on April 15, 1915.

4.3 ANGUS ROSS BERRY, was the fourth child born to Rolland Berry and Mary Belle
Showers. Angus was born on July 17, 1918 in Fowlerville, Mich. Angus married
Mary A Hull at Dimondale, Michigan on 1937. Mary was born on 1921 and her
parents were John and Mary Hull, one of the pioneer families or Eaton County.
Angus was an artist and hs worked for the Quality Sign Company in Lansing. He
also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Angus and Mary now reside
in Indian River, Michigan where he owns a sign painting business. Angus and
Mary were the parents of three children who are listed below with their
families.

4.3.1 Connie Berry, was the first child born to Angus Berry and Mary Hull.
Connie was born on September 9, 1937 in Dimondale, Michigan. Connie graduated
from St Jonns High School in 1952 and then served in the U.S. Navy. Connie
married Margurete Yurek of St Johns, Michigan on December 18, 1955. Connie and
Margurete are the parents of two children who are listed below.

Rolland aerry. Melba was born on April 12, 1920. She first married Rollin W
Bowen on December 16, 1940 in Lansing, Michigan. Melba later divorced and
married West. Melba and Rollin were the parents of three children Who are
listed below with their families.

4.6 WILMA DORIS BERRY, was the sixth child born to Mary Belle Showers and
Rolland Berry. Wilma was born on March 14, 1923. She married Robert E Twichell
on August 15, 1941 in Dimondale, Michigan. Bob was in the U.S. Army in World
War II and was severly wounded in action. Bob and Wilma live in and are the
parents of two children who are listed below with their families.

4.6.1 KENT E TWITCHEL, born on August 15, 1942 in Dimondale, Michigan. Ken was
in the U.S. Air Force for several years. Kent is an Artist and he specializes
in very large murals on the sides of buildings. He also teaches art at Los
Angeles City College and at Otis Art Institute.

4.6.2 GLORIA JEAN TWITCHELL, born on September 16, 1943 in Dimondale, Michigan.
She attended Central Michigan University in Mt Pleasant and she married James
M Helgemo on July 17, 1965. Gloria and Jim live in Midlanc, Michigan where
they are both school teachers. They have no children.

4.7 DON ELGIN BERRY, was the seventh child born to Rolland Berry and Mary Belle
Showers. Don was born on January 15, 1925. He died as an infant on February 5,
1925.

4.8 MARJORIE IONE BERRY, was the eighth child born to Rollanti Berry and Mary
Belle Showers. Marjorie was born on December 12, 1926. She married Edmond
Reedy on October 19, 1946. Marjorie and Edmond live in Dianondale, Michigan
and are the parents of four children who are listed below with their families.

Belle Showers. Lloyd was born on November 20, 1930.

4.11 ROLLAND DALE BERRY, was the eleventh child born to Rolland Berry and Mary
Belle Showers. Rolland was born on August 5, 1932. Rolland married lda M
Bateman on October 12, 1951. Rolland and Ida live on the family homestead in
Dimondale, Michigan and are parents of two children who are listed below with
their families.

on August 28, 1954. Max and Kay live in California. They parents of three
children listed below with their families.

5. ANGUS HENRY SHOWERS, was the fifth child and only son of Ida Weishuhn and
David Showers. Angus was born on May 3, 1894 in Clayton Township (Melita) of
Arenac County, Michigan. He moved to the Lansing area in about 1920 with his
parents and met and married Emma Rocker of Dwight, Illinois on June 26, 1917.
Angus and Emma moved to a farm near DeWight in 19?? where they lived until
there death. Angus suffered a severe attack of Influenza followed by
Rheumatism and Pluresy, which led to an incurable heart aliment. Angus died on
January 8, 1934 in Gliddon Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois. Emma had died
previously on December 20, 1933 and both are buried in Dewight. Angus and Emma
were the parents of two children who are listed below.

Dr. Boylston were the parents of four children before they divorced. The

5.2 HAROLD ANGUS SHOWERS, was an adopted son of Angus Snowers and Emma Rocker.
Harold was born on August 2, 1920 in Carrollton, Illinois. Harold lived with
his parents until they died, and then he went to Detroit and lived with his
aunt Stella and husband, Don McKay. Harold inlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1939
and stayed in the Navy for 23 1/2 years. While in the navy, he met and and
married Elizabeth Mary Maguire on 1941 in Seattle, Washington. Elizabeth was
born in 1922 in Seattle, and her parents were John and Elizabeth Maguire. She
and Angus divrorced August 31, 1961 and Angus then married Susan Marie Thomae
(Zimnerman) Susan was born on January 13, 1924 in Chatham, Illinois and her
parents were Willian Henry Thomae and Blanche Anna Bale. Susan was previously
married to Gordon Red Zimmerman, desceased. Harold and Susan live in Fieldon,
Illinois where he works for the school district as a maintenance mechanic.

6. SUSIE ALICE SHOWERS, was the sixth child born to Idle Weishuhn and David
Showers. Susie was born on March 17, 1938 in Clayton Township (Melita) of
Arenac County, Michigan. She married Herbert Whitmore Cnurch. Herb was born on
May 13, 1898 in Lansing, Michigan. Susie and Herb divorced after the children
were born and Susie married John Hopkins. Herb died on January , 1949 in
Lansing and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Lansing, Michigan. Susie and
John lived in Battle Creek, Michigan and that is where she died on September
17, 1972. Susie is buried in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Susie and Herbert Church
were the parents of four daughters who are listed below with their families.

6.1 BETTY JEAN CHURCH, was the first daughter born to Susie Showers and Herbert
Church. She was born on May 20, 1928 in Lansing, Michigan. Betty married
Joseph Edward Konen on November 1936. Joe was born on March 11, 1915. Joe and
Betty lived in Battle Creek, Michigan. Joe died on January 17, 1962. Belly
died on February 23, 1965 in Battle Creek. Betty Jean and Joe Konen were the
parents of daughters who are listed below with their families

6.1.1 Nancy Jean KONEN, was born in 1937 in Battle Creek Michigan. Nancy
married Leo Swank. Leo and Nancy live in Westminster, California. Nancy is
employeed by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles.

Church. Dawn was born in 1940 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She married Lonnie

Creek, Michigan. Melba died when she was only twenty five years old on
December 8, 1945. Emerald and Troxel were the parents of two children who are
listed below with their families.

Larry married Marilyn Jean Richmon November 2, 1963 Larry and Marilyn are the

22, 1916 and his parents were Mathew Fox and Elizabeth Miller. Joe and Jimmy
live in Lansing, Michigan where Joe worked for Oldsmobile for forty two years
before he retired. Jimmy and Joe were the parents of three children who are
listed below with their families.

6.3.1 JANET ELAINE FOX, was the first child born to Joe, and Jimmy Fox. Janet
was born on September 8, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan. Janet first married Gory
Gene Holden on September 22, 1962. Janet and Gary were the parents of two
children before they divorced on April 17, 1970. Janet then married Robsrt
Brace Witwer on August 8, 1970. Robert had been previously married and was the
father or four children. The children of Gary and Janet are listed below.

6.3.2 JACQUELINE ANN FOX, was the second child born to Jimmy Church and Joe

where she was a nurse. Jackie contracted Hepatitis in the hospital and she died
on July 23, 1974.

6.3.3 WAYNE MATHEW FOX, was the third and last child born to Jimmy Church and
Joe Fox. Wayne was born on October 8, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan. Wayne
attended General Motors Institute, and has a Masters Degree from Michigan State
University in Lansing.

7. CHRISTINA (TINA) SHOWERS, was the seventh and last child born to Idle
Weishuhn and Dave Showers. Tina was born on November 11, 1900 in Clayton
Township (Melita) of Arenac County, Michigan. Tina first married Philip
Lansing. Philip owned a barber shop in Tina next married J Putman. Tina next
married Lou Gregory. Tina lived in Nocatee, Florida. She died in 1977.

CHARLES HENRY WEISHUHN AND LAURA L. BOUGHNER AND THEIR DESCENDANTS

THE CHARLES WEISHUHN FAMILY

CHARLES HENRY WEISHUHN, was the third child and second son of Henry W. Weishuhn
and Mariah Markle. He was born on August 6, 1860 in Lobo Township, Middlesex
County, Ontario, Canada. Charley married Laura L. Boughner on January 24, 1882
in Maple Ridge, Michigan. The marriage was performed by William Smith, Justice
of the Peace, and witnessed by William E. Smith and Anna E. Smith. Charley and
Laura first lived in Clayton Township but later moved to Mills Township in
Ogemaw County. The 1900 Michigan Census shows the family living in Mills
Township. On the Plat Map of Richland Township made in 1903 the family lived at
tote intersection of Countyline Rd. and Black Rd. o'n the northeast corner.
This intersection is known as Pumpkin Center, but it was also called Weishuhn
corners in the past, as Weishuhn' s lived on three of the four corners, and
other family members lived nearby. Charley was a farmer and also in the general
store business. Charley died on April 23, 1928, a week after suffering a
paralytic stroke, while visiting his son Charles housea Charley's wife Laura
was born in Langton, Ontario on September 25, 1862. She first came to
Grindstone Michigan in 1880 with her parents' The family moved to Maple Ridge
where she lived until she married Charley. She died on September 26, 1927.
Funeral services were held at the Mission Hall in Cedar Valley. and she was
buried in Richland Cemetery near Prescott. She was a member of the Baptist
Church and was 65 years old at the time of death. Charley and Laura had nine
children and listed below are the children and their descendants. Charles
applied for U.S. citizenship on July 16, 1888 and was made a citizen by Judge
Nelson Sarpe on Feb. 24, 1902. Charles henry Weishuhn was the third child and
the second son born to Henry W. Weishuhn and Mariah Markleo Charles was born on
August 6, 196O in Lobo Township, of Middlesex County, Ontario Canada@ Charles
married Laura L. Bouhgner of Clayton Township on January 24, 1882 in Maple
Ridge, Michigan. The marriage ceremony was performed by William Smith, Justice
of the Peace and witnessed by Anna E. Smith and William E. Smithy. Laura
Boughner was born on September 25, 1862 in Langton, Ontario Canada.

The 1900 Michigan Census of Ogemaw County, Mills Township lists Charles as a
Farmer with his wife Laura and six children. Charley later had a general store
at the inter section of County Line and Black Rd., and several of the family
lived at this intersection. At one time this coQner was known as Weishuhns
Corners, but it is now called Pumpkin Center. Laura died on September 6, 1927
and Charley died on 1929. ?The following are obituaries of Charley Weishuhn
and 'his wife, Laura Boughner. Laura A. Weishuhn, nee Boughner was born in
Langton, Ontario September 25, 1862 and died September 6, 1927 at the ageof 65
years. She came to Grindstone City, Michigan with her parents at the age of 18
years. After having lived there for a short time the family came to Maple
Ridge, where she resided until 1882. She was united in Holy matrimony to
Charles H. Weishuhn in January 1882. To this union nine children were born,
four of whom preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband,
Charles H. Weishuhn, five sons, Chester, Mason Township, or es . of Burleigh
Township, Iosco County; Henry, Standish; Laural and Kenneth, Detroit, 14
grandchildren, one brother, George L. Boughner, New Baltimore; three nieces and
two nephews. At the time of her marriage, the deceased with her husband moved
on a new piece of land in Ogemaw County and helped to carve a home out of the
virgin forests. She was one of the oldedt settlers in this community and was
greatly loved and respected throughout the community. She joined the Baptist
faith at an early age and continued faithful to her faith throughout the
remainder of her life. Reverand A.A. Glen of Twinning officiated at the
services which were hel(Ss at Mission Hall at Cedar Valley. Burial was made in
Richland Cemetery. The bereaved have the sympathy of a multitude of friends.

OLD PIONEER PASSES AWAY

C.H. Weishuhn, 69, and for 53 years a resident of Arenac County, passed away at
the home of his son, Charles O. Weishuhn, County Line, last Tuesday, April 23.
A week previous to his death he suffered a paralytic Stroke and he was not
strong enough to withstand the shock. He was on a visit with his son Charles
when he was taken ill. During the past year, Mr Weishuhn had made his home in'
Standish with his son, Henry. Deceased was born August 6, 1860 in the Township
of Lobo, County of Middlesex, Province of Ontario, and came to Arenac County
when 18 years of age, settling at County Line, where he lived practically his
entire life. He is survived by five sons, Chester, Turner; Charles, County
Line; Henry, Standish; Laurel and Kenneth, Detroit.

He also leaves three sisters and five brothers; Mrs. Rose Thompson, Flint; Mrs.
Gittie Frizzle, Pontiac; Mrs. Tillie Keeler, Schwartz Creek; Richard, Bay City;
Isaac, Stuart, Florida; John, Pontiac; Peter, Muskegon; Arthur, Milstrand; and
a host of other relatives and friends. His wife passed away about two years ago.

While in Arenac county he engaged in the mercantile business the greater part
of the time. He also worked a farm. The funeral was held last Thursday from
the Mission Hall at County Line, Reverand W.F.Gawne of the Prescott M.E. Church
officiating. Burial was made in Richland Cemetery at Prescott.
 

Charley and Laura had eight children, and they are listed below along with
their descendants.

1.0 GEORGE WALTER WEISHUHN, born October 20, 1883. George died as a youth of
17 years, 10 months, and 2 days on August 26, 1900. He was ill for
approximately eight months from cronic bronchitis, prior to his death. He also
suffered from epileptic seizures, which contributed to his death.

2.0 CHESTER W. WEISHUHN, born August 14, 1885 in Richland Township of Ogemaw
County, Michigan. Chester married Lacy Celia Basney. Chester was a farmer,
and Lacy was a cook for several years at the Turner School. Chester suffered
from Uremia and Arteriosclorosis and died on August 4, 1961 in a nursing home
in Au Gres, Michigan. Lacy died on January 16, in Hurler Hospital in Flint,
Michigan from a Cerebral Hemorage. Lacy and Chester are buried in Cedar Valley
Cemetery, near Twinning, Michigan. Chester and Lacy were the parents of eleven
children, and they and their ancestors are listed below.

2.1 ADA MAGDALENE WEISHUHN, born March 20, 1918 in Twinning, Michigan. Ada
married Albert M. Morley in 1938. Ada and Albert were parents to six children,
and they and their ancestors are listed belows

2.2 GLADYS MARION WEISHUHN, born August 17, 1919 in Twinning, Michigan. Gladys
married Mercy Clarence Meyers on June 28, 1941 in the First Baptist Church at
Prescott, Michigan by the Reverend T.E. Mack. The Maid of Honor was Miss Inez
Sedar and Percy was attended by his brother Arthur and Tea Basneyo A reception
followed and was well attended by out-of-town guests. Percy was born on
December 3, 1914 in Essezville, Michigan and his parents were Edward Meyers and
Gladys had attended high school in Standish, and also Arenac County Normal. She
taught school in Midland, Michigan before her marriage. Gladys suffered from
Cancer and Heart problems and died in Hospital in Saginaw following Heart
Surgery on 1980 Percy then moved to He became ill and died in Maclaren Hospital
in Flint, Michigan on February 1, 1981. Percy and Gladys were parents of three
children, and they and their ancestors are listed below.

2.3 BURL HENRY WEISHUHN, born November 21, 1920 in Twinning, Michigan. Burl
married Louise Rosemond . Burl was killed in action during. Germany while
serving in General George Patton's. Burl and Louise had one son who is listed
belows.

County, Michigan. Wilber and Eva were parents of five daughters, and they and
their ancestors are listed below.

on October 21, 1972 at Port huror, Michigan. Morgan parents were Buddy Aadms
and Molly Combs.

2.7 DOROTHY MAE WEISHUHN, born August 11, 1927 in Twinning, Michigan. Dorothy
married Augustino "Gus" Fargnoli on November 1, 1934 in Standish, Michigan.
Gus was then in the Air Force stationed at Oscoda and they were married by a
Justice of the Peace. The best man was Joe E. Gee and the Maid-of-Honor was
Margaret Gee. Gus was born on March 28, 1910 in Centerdale, New Providence,
Rhode Island and his parents were Antonio Fargnoli and Louisa Gulotto. Dorothy
and Gus lived most of their married life in Providence where Gus worked in the
heavy construction industry. Gus was accidentally killed in an industrial
accident on October 18, 1971, and is buried in St. Anns Cemetery. Gus and
Dorothy were the parents of eight children, who are listed below with their

attended Arenac Eastern High Schoc)l and met Kenneth Leroy Cain at the senior
prom in 1948. Opal and Kenneth (Red) were later married on March 5, 1953 in the
Methodist Church in Turner, michiagn. "Red" Cain was born on March 1, 1934 in
Melita, Michigan, and graduated from Sterling High School. His parents were
Ervin Cain and Celia Daniels. "Red" and Opal lived in the Detroit area for
many years, and he worked for Kelsey Yayes Corporation for twenty five years
before retiring. "Red" and Opal have two children and they and their families
are listed below.

attended Arenac Eastern High School in Twinging, and also the General Motors
Institute in Flint, Michigan. He also was in the U.S. Marine Corp for three
years. Bruce married Joyce Lorraine Schutte at the Community Methodist Church
in Standish, Michigan, followed with a reception at Deep River Hall in
Sterling. Bruce was attended by James Weishuhn, Fred Schutte, Robert Morley,
Wiiliam Schutte Jr, Fred Shonmeier, and Daniel Weishuhn. Joyce was attended by
Mrs. Edward Bilacic, Dorothy Faunce and Dorothy Petri. Janie Bilacic was the
flower girl. Joyce was born, May 25, 1935 in Turner, Michigan and her parents
were Frederick Karl Schutte and Catherine Lee Petri. Bruce and Joyce now live
in Mt. Morris, Michigan and Bruce works for the A C Sparkplug Division of
General Motors, as a mechanic. They have three children who are listed below

Wither apparantly died young as there is no other information available about
him.

4. ADA WEISHUHN, born December 22, 1889 in Richland Township of Ogemaw County,
Michigan. Ada died on January 18, 1904, at age fifteen from Brights Desease
and is buried in Richland Cemetery near Prescott, Michigan.

5.0 CHARLES OBERLIN WEISHUHN, born April 13, 1892 in Richland Township, Ogemaw
County, Michigan. Charley marrie Margaret (Maggie) Myrtle Trombley. Maggie
was born August 15, 1894 in Royal Oak, Michigan, and her parents were Ben and
Mary Trombley. Ben and Mary and family moved to Turner, Michigan from Royal
Oak in 1899, and attended Turner Schools Charley and Maggie lived and raised
their children on County Line Road between Arenac county and Ogemaw County.
Charley was a farmer and also owned a mercantile business on County Line Road,
at what is known as "Pumpkin Center" and also called "Weishuhn Corners" in the
"Old days". Maggie suffered from heart troubler for several years and she deid
at home on Saturday, February 17,1934, and is buried in Richland Cemetery near
Prescott, Michigan. The cause of death was Bronchial Pneumonia. Charley died
from a Coronary attack on October 2, 1973 and is also buried in Richland
Cemetery.

During their lifetime Charley and Maggie were the parents or nine children, who
are listed below with their families.

5.1 Laura Margaret Weishuhn, born Septemoer 17, 1914.

Laura married Earl Bergeron on 1937 at Laura and Earl divorced and Laura

Margaret Krivy) Chuck married Helen Ann Krivy on December 2, 1939 in OJr Lady
of Lourdes Church in Turner, Michigan. Helen was born on March 31, 1920 in
East St. Louis, Ill. and her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Krivy. Helen
died on June 11, 1941 in Harper Hospital in Dstroit, Michigan, shortly after
the birth or a Son wno is listed below. She was 21 years, 2 months and 19 days
old at the time of her death. Chuck then married Mildred (.Millie) Rose Malito
on April 30, 1949 at Paw Paw, Michigan in St. Marys Church. Millie was born on
September 13, 1917 in irhicago, Illinois and her parents were Louis Malito and
Carmella Petrungaro, whc came to the U.S.A. from Italy in 1902 Chuck and Heien

23, 1972 at Paw Paw, Michigan in St Marys Church. Dave was born on August 7,
1948 in Milwalkie, Wisconsin and his parents were Warren Frank and Audry.

Grogell. He was born on December 5, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

5.3.3. CAROL SUE WEISHUHN, was the third child born to Chuck Weishuhn and the
second and last child of Millie Millito. She was born on April 14, 1952 in Paw
Paw, Michigan. Carol married Robert Wiegand on April 20, 1774 at Kalamazoo,
Michigan Bob was born on August 15, 1948 a t and his parents were Robert

Wayne married Frieda Mae (Pat) Jarrell on June 2, 1967 in Flint, Michigan. Pat
was born on October 9, 1932 in Brownwood, Missouri and her parents were James
Albert Henley and Murella Inez Duffy. Pat had been previously married to
Carroll Dean Jarrell and she had two sons, Philip Dean, born March 17, 1953 and
Gory Lee, born August 12, 1958. When Wayne and Pat were married, Wayne was
working for in Flint, Michigan. Wayne soon developed a heart problem after
another operation, which proved to be disabilling. Wayne and family moved to
Advance, Missouri and wnre only there a short time when Wayne suffered a fatal
heart attack in the doctors office in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 10,
1960. Wayne was buried in Morgan Cemetery in Advance, Missouri. Wayne and Pat
had a son born who is listed below.
