Almost There (21 of 21)
Almost There.
The last leg of our journey from Atlanta to HIA Friday night boarded on time. As we rolled away from the terminal, the captain announced we'd have to be de-iced, which would delay us about 45 minutes. Two hours later, around midnight, we were airborn. Had we been on the ground for another hour or so, we'd have been just as stranded as Whitney Klosterman, 10, of Mooreton, ND, who naps here in a chair at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Saturday. She and her family had to camp out while hoping for a plane Saturday. (photo courtesy of ajc.com). A major ice storm pummeled Atlanta early Saturday morning, and left many travelers without a way home. Several of our compadres from the conference were planning to fly home Saturday. I wonder if they met Whitney.
