My Mario Tennis Page!
This page has absolutely nothing to do with the Gameboy Advance but it's nice to have a site that is not completely done on one subject. I chose Mario Tennis as one of my "bonus pages" subjects because I reckon that it is one of the best games ever made. The controls are simple which is good, there is a good variety of characters, there are quite a few fun game modes to play with loads to do and it is funny!
My best achievement on it is my Ring Shot "BALLS" record which is a whopping 999 rings with Peach(which is the max amount). Please e-mail me at [email protected] with your views on this great N64 game! Also don't forget to check out the animation I made, which is at the bottom of the page!
Here are the current secrets that I have found within the game:
Beat the standard tournament's Star Cup in singles to unlock ShyGuy and in doubles for Donkey Kong Jr.
Beat the standard tournament's Star Cup in singles with EVERY character to unlock the Star tournament. To access this tournament simply hold R when selecting your character for the 1 player game.
For the hidden courts perform the following tasks:
Beat the Mushroom Cup on singles with DK for DK's court
Beat the Star Cup in doubles with Mario for the Mario + Luigi court
Beat the Mushroom cup singles with Yoshi to unlock the Yoshi + Baby Mario court
Beat the Star Cup doubles with Birdo to unlock the Birdo + Yoshi court
Beat the Mushroom Cup singles with Mario to unlock the Super Mario Bros court
Beat the Star Cup doubles with Wario to unlock the Wario + Waluigi court
Beat the Piranha challenge by returning all 50 balls with any character to unlock the Perfect Piranha court for that mode
Character (CPU) Profiles:
Mario: An easy player who stays at the back line. Mario first appeared in the Donkey Kong Arcade game under the name Jumpman!
Luigi: First introduced in the Super Mario Brothers game for NES Luigi plays better than Mario! He sticks to the net with a lot of smashes.
Peach: The unlucky princess who was just called princess at first when she appeared with Mario in the Donkey Kong Arcade game. Quick and sneaky is her game.
Baby Mario: Popped up in Super Mario Land Baby is very quick but sometimes has problems reaching high balls.
Yoshi: Also popped up in Super Mario Land and is the same as Baby although doesn't have trouble reaching high balls.
Bowser: The evil king of lizards appeared in Super Mario Brothers, he was originally called King Koopa. REALLY powerful and VERY sneaky; a tough character to beat although he is slow.
Paratroopa: Actually just a basic enemy starting from Super Mario Brothers he slides around and puts a lot of spin on the ball.
ShyGuy: Another basic enemy this time from Super Mario Brothers 2. Tricky is the only word that will describe him.
Wario: Sneaky, powerful and faster than expected Wario first appeared on Super Mario Land 2; he is Mario's evil twin!
Waluigi: To give Wario a bit of company Nintendo indroduced Luigi's evil twin - Waluigi. This is his first ever appearence and shows off his lanky legs. Not quite as powerful as Wario but he is faster and accurate.
Daisy: The "damsel in distress" from Super Mario Land" makes her 3D debut and seems to play just like Peach!
Toad: Peach's loyal guard (although not a good one) he came in at the Super Mario Brothers game. Some people don't realize this but there are actually many toads but they concentrate on one who hasn't even got a name of his own! He plays like Baby Mario.
Birdo: A sub-boss from Super Mario Brothers 2 who appeared many times she plays like Yoshi.
Donkey Kong: The ape from the Donkey Kong Arcade game (hence the name) he is powerful and slow but not as sneaky as Bowser.
Boo: The ghost enemy from Super Mario Brothers 3 Boo plays like Paratroopa.
Donkey Kong Jr: The main hero from the sequel to the original Donkey Kong Arcade game has powerful and is not really slow but has trouble getting the ball up high.
