POLYMER SYNTHESIS LABORATORY

The polymer synthesis laboratory consists of a rotary evaporator (Heino KE), two vacuum aspirators (Eyela), several vacuum manifolds and nitrogen lines to do inert atmosphere work, two drying oven, a centrifuge and two photoreactors.

The wet-lab was renovated in July 2002 with three fume hoods, three working benches and acid-free floor tiles.

POLYMER CHARACTERIZATION LABORATORY

The polymer characterization laboratory consists of a mBRAUN glove box, a Shimadzu gel permeation chromatograph (GPC /HPLC) [assembled using parts purchased from various sources], a JASCO 410 FT-IR spectrophotometer with DRIFT (Pike) and HATR (Pike) accessories, JASCO 530 UV-Visible Spectrophotometer and a Mettler Toledo TGA/SDTA has been built.

Waters GPC with RI detector and Ellipsometer will be included shortly in the above list.
