Well, I finally changed the layout of this page. Enough with the pre-2000 look already. Contents are still much the same, though...as you can see below. Anyway. From the top. My name is Damon Sands. I was born on December 21, 1974 (which makes me 27 at the time this page was last updated). I'm a borderline Sagittarius/Capricorn, for those of you who are interested in such things. On the Chinese Zodiac, I'm a Tiger. As to what these two things mean, your guess is probably better than mine. I have a sister, Amanda, who's three years younger than I am, and my parents, Harold and Carolyn, are still very much in love. Good deal. I was born in Seattle, myself, and raised in San Diego, schooled at UCLA, med-schooled at UCSD. I've moved on to UCSF now, doing my residency and whatnot. My parents have since moved back to Seattle since they seem to prefer rain and evergreens to sun and sand. Of course, I can't say much for the sun in the Bay Area during the winter months, seeing as how the sun doesn't come out for weeks at a time. Sometimes it rains so much during the winter, it gives Seattle a run for its money. But rain's a pretty small price to pay for having the greatest city in the world (hey, I didn't make that up. That's what San Francisco calls itself, and it isn't exaggerating) nearby. Ever see the Golden Gate bridge in the mist and rain, with the Pacific Ocean gray and white-capped beneath it? It's...really something. The Pacific is one of the great things about California. Another's the deserts. Take a drive through Death Valley someday, if you get a chance. Stop the car and get out. The silence is stunning, and so is the barren beauty of the place. And then there's the Cali's mountains--the Cascade Range and the Sierra Nevadas. Great skiing during the winter, considering it's only a few hours away by car. I try to go at least once a year, usually more than that. Time's a little short lately, but I'm trying to keep it up anyway. You only live once, right? Other than skiing, I also write in my free time. I roleplay--and if you haven't tried, give it a try. I play volleyball (but it's way too cold these days). Ultimate frisbee is always fun, though it's been an awful long time since I've had a chance to play. Been surfing more recently, though, having found a spot where you can actually do that in the Bay. That wasn't easy. Home life. I have two cats, Obsidian (Sid) and Spaz, and they're great cats, totally affectionate and all that. I'd like to get a pet snake someday, but I think Sid might try to eat him. I have my own apartment on the 14th story of a nice high-rise in SF now, and it's real nice. Got its own balcony and everything and on a good day you can see clear out to the horizon beyond the City. I'm paying out the ears for it, though, so it damn well better be nice. I'm with Brianna right now, who's some sort of a businesswoman type for Merrill Lynch, so yay for her. She's quiet and lovely and kind of shy, though confident in her work, so yay for me. Well...that's me in a very large nutshell. There's nothing much to say--at least, nothing I'm going to write up for all the world to see. Heh. Chill, y'all. |
