As Jesse made her way through hallways and stairs in the huge mansion, she hummed a tune that she was concidering to use for a song she was writing in private. Finally, she could see the front door and picked up the pace, not wanting to spend one less minute with Lestat. But suddenly, Jesse slipped on a wet liquid on the marble foyer surface. Jesse hit the ground quite hard, and was knock out. Total darkness.
Meanwhile, Lestat was watching TV with Marius when he fell in his gut that something was wrong. His first thought was of Jesse and ran to the front door. He knew someting was wrong when he called out her name and she didn't answer. Finally, Lestat saw Jesse lying on the floor in the foyer, and his worst fears became real. Runnig to her side, Lestat check to see what was wrong.
Lifting up her head, Lestat felt the liquid that made his love fall. "MARIUS!" Lestat called out for help. No luck. Wasting no time, Lestat carefully picked Jesse up and ran in vampiric speed to place her on their bed. Caressing her face, Lestat felt a bloody tea fall down his face as he sat by her side. Trying to keep himself together, he grabbed a cloth and walked into the bathroom to soak it.
After Lestat had soaked the cloth and regain his control on his emotions, he came out of the bathroom to see Marius by Jesse's side. "Have a bit of a fall did she?" Marius commented. Lestat just nodded as he made his way to her side. Patting the cloth on her forehead every so often, Lestat couldn't keep his eyes off her. Marius left Lestat in peace, he could see he need it.
It was about an hour later when Jesse opened her eyes. "Jesse? My love? How are you?" was Lestat first comment. But she didn't reply, but did have a confussed face. "It's ok now. I'm here with you," Lestat said to calm her down. "Where am I? (Looks at Lestat) Who are you? (Backs away from him)...," Jesse said frantically.
"Beloved, it's me, Lestat.... your home," Lestat said as he stood to sit on the bed next to her. "I don't know any Lestat! And I'm not home!" Were Jesse's last words before she ran out into the lounge room, where she came face to face with Marius. |
