Panicing, I ran passed Lestat and opened up the main door and ran. I knew exactly where I was, I was only down the road from my house. "Lestat must of been in a rush to find a coffin for me to rest in" was the last thought I had in my mind about Lestat as I ran home. It was when I ran passed the same place where Lestat and I first met, in the bushes near my house, where Lestat stopped in front of me.
"Why?" I cried to him and started to back away. It was obvious that all those children in the church were no longer living when I saw streams of blood down his chin as he walked more into the light of the street lights. "Oh my god!" I said as I covered my mouth with shock. "Don't be alarmed my dear," Lestat said in the most clear and calming tone. It worked. I stopped backing away and let him come closer.
Inches away from each other, I could feel Lestat's breath on my now clammy skin. Sighing for a split second, I felt relaxed. As I did Lestat wrapped his arms around me and whispered into my ear, "Your are one of my kind now my sweet child, you're a vampire. Blood is now a craving you will now find hard to ignore, but don't dispair, I will teach you the skills you need."
