UG accessibility in children's SLA:  This paper is a single case study of three Arabic native children (one of them was my son 'Abdulaziz') while they were at his infant stage of acquiring  the L2 English. The investigated problem is based upon whether ttheir output of the L2 is determined through the L1 pre-set parameters, or through setting parameters constructed by the UG (universal grammar). It shows that children can directly access the UG in their Second Language Acquisition  (SLA).   

The Influence of the L1 Pro-Drop Parameter: This study observes how Arabic speakers contend with the non pro-drop parameter in their L2 English.  It is of interest, because Arabic is a + pro-drop language while English is a -pro-drop language.  The results affirm that the students are influenced by their L1 pro-drop parameter up to their advanced level.  

Null-Subject in SLA: The ensuing essay offers an insight into the use of pro-drop parameter in SLA. The review falls into three main sections. First, is a brief exploration of some aspects of the pro-drop parameter. Second, is a review of some of the major studies in this field, followed by a discussion and conclusion of their findings, with the intent to draw a conclusion of the theories of SLA that the findings support.

Types of Test-item Format in EFL Tests in Saudi Arabia: This paper aimed to a answer four questions; the main one examined  the types of test format in which EFL knowledge  is measured by test-makers at both secondary school and university levels in Saudi Arabia. The findings show  thirty-five dissimilar types of test formats are utilised in testing EFL vocabulary knowledge in the population studied.

One of the main significant results of this study was the new classification scheme developed. This is because the traditional broad-spectrum classification of test item format (short answer, cloze test, completion, etc) cannot not readily be used by a similar study to classified its data in a neat way.  

The Examination System in Saudi Arabia: This is an analysis of the current  assessment system used  in Saudi Arabia at the two main levels of study: university level and state schools. It is expected that most of the middle eastern countries follow a very much similar system. This review was a part of a full scale study.

Construct validation of tests: Construct validation has recently become the most vital concern among experts in language testing. This piece of theoretical work covers test validity in general and types of test validation, with extra focus on construct validity and the construct validity of the C-test as a particular example.

Teaching Writing Task Through Writing Process: Language Teachers should bear in mind when judging a student’s L2 writing that the linguistic level may not be the limiting factor, rather the student may lack the necessary writing skills. Hence,  this is a course essay for teachers of Arabic as a second language to teach writing skill via writing process approach rather than a product-oriented method.

Summary of my M.A. Dissertation (in Arabic): It  investigates the use of teaching aids in teaching Arabic in the Middle Schools in Saudi Arabia. The result shows that there is an extreme poverty  of using the teaching aids in teaching Arabic Language in the Saudi schools.
