| A Message In Verse I write what I feel, I feel what I write. The words rollout To kiss not bite. To put words to form, And try to please all Is not the thought, Just the result of one's call. Verse and rhyme will make one think, Whether the story is large or whether it's small There are those with eloquent words, And those that ramble away. There are those that hold words dear, And those that cast them astray. But if what's written Are not words for thought, Then all the writing Is to be for naught. Let serenity reign While reading verse And you'll gain something special As you and the words converse. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Dads Legacy Every dad should leave a legacy For the children he has sired. No, it isnt land or money, Its a man to be admired. For your children It begins to build at childhood. A hero for their lives, And they will remember when, there, a giant stood. No youre not a giant, Youre just a common man. But its how you handled life, And your goodness through your span. What you are and what youve done Is imbedded in an offsprings mind. Character and deeds performed, Are what they would like to find. So if you leave nothing else To endear your childrens memory, Leave that strong and kindly giant In their heart and mind, their library. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Family The greatest gift given to you From the Lord up above, Next to life itself, Is a family to love. Your friends are a special gem, To be treated with love and pride, But your family is a part of you And always at your side. The world can be a lonely place To those that know no kin. Your family pours out its love, But you must let it in. Your family is your wealth, No matter what else you may think, They are your reservoir of strength, From which you may always drink. As for me, I am grateful For the gift of those I call mine. They bring forth the stars at night, In the day, the sun to shine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
