A Grandfathers Dream

I often wonder
What the world will be
When our great grandchildren
Take the place of you and me.
Will wars have ceased,
And will people be one,
With distrust and hatred gone,
And all bias done?
Will the world be free
For all to enjoy?
Where once again children
May be an innocent girl or boy.
Where hearts reach out,
With a hand to assist,
Wherever its needed,
And greed doesnt exist.
I hope for my children
That the world will ease as it goes,
To enjoy mother nature,
And smell the rose.
Where no one must be
The first or the best,
Where all over our world,
Only good will is the test.
