Ric Flair strutted out to the ring to the cheers of the fans from Dallas, Texas.  Flair revealed to the world that his match against Vince McMahon at the Royal Rumble would be a Street Fight, with a guaranteed winner.  Instead of Vince McMahon, whom Flair called out, the Undisputed Champion Chris Jericho came out to talk about how great he was.  After Y2J said that Flair didn't have what it took anymore and declared himself as the anti-Texan, Flair decked the champ, but Vince McMahon blasted Flair with that steel pipe repeatedly.
Lance Storm and Christian's conversation with Jericho was interrupted as a big, bad Texan, Bradshaw, challenged Jericho to a match.
Buh-Buh Ray Dudley challenged 1/2 of the Tag Team Champs, Spike Dudley.  D-Von tried to double team, but Tazz distracted Buh-Buh long enough for Spike to roll him up and end the match.
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was furious about being late, but HHH seemed annoyed at her.  Steph yelled at the limo driver for not getting her door.
Showcasing the lack of talent (as wrestlers, not as superheroes) in the tag team division, Billy and Chuck faced off with Tajiri and the Hurricane.  Tajiri used his leathal feet to take out Billy, but Chuck caught him with a Superkick to end the match.
If anyone cares, Albert and Scotty Too Hotty will be in the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
Kurt Angle was trying to talk about his match with fans, but "WHAT!" chants were echoing throughout the arena.  Kurt promised to break Kane's Ankle, which would put him at a severe disadvantage and make it almost impossible to improve on his incredible performace last year.
Debra and Stephanie got in a yelling, pushing, and slapping match over who's husband was going to win the Royal Rumble.
Jazz beat Jackie to become #1 Contender for the Women's Title at the Royal Rumble.
Kurt Angle met with Kane just six days before two Rumble favorites would meet 28 other men in the Royal Rumble.  Kane couldn't use all of his strength as Kurt kept the Big Red Machine off his feet, but couldn't put the Ankle Lock on.  Kane took control and went for a Chokeslam, but Angle countered and put him in the Ankle Lock.  Kane got to the ropes, got pulled back to the center, and somehow got to the ropes again.  Kurt hit an Olymic Slam, but still couldn't keep the Big Red Machine down.  Kane chokeslammed both Kurt and the ref when Kurt tried to use the ref as a shield.  Kurt tapped to his own move when Kane put him in the Ankle Lock, but the ref was down.  The ref recovered, but only in time to see Angle reverse the move into a pin for the 1-2-3.
HHH tried to convince his wife that he had handled Austin in the past and would again at the Rumble.
Though the Big Show joined the APA for some beer, Booker T interrupted him and challenged the Show to a match after the Big Show insulted Booker's performance against Rikishi.
Edge and RVD teamed to face William Regal and Test, and Regal was thoroughly searched for those devastating brass knuckles.  Regal got the brass knuckles from the outside and took out RVD, but got a Spear from Edge.  Edge then hit the Edgecution on Test, but Regal recovered and plastered Edge with those brass knuckles to end it.
Y2J, Lance Storm, and Christian found out who the third member of the APA team was going to be, Rikishi!
Booker T faced the Big Show, and the Bookerman was in control for the match.  Big Show got going, but ran head first into a turnbuckle ring exposed earlier in the match by Booker.  Booker, who also is in the Rumble, covered him to win the match.
Stone Cold Steve Austin told Michael Cole a story that had happened to the Rattlesnake while he was in Texas: He went into a bar, drank some beer, more beer, whiskey, more beer, and then started a fight.  He proceeded to throw the other 29 patrons of the bar out of it, and told the bartender that he was practicing for the Rumble when he would defeat anyone in his path, no matter what HHH has gone through.  Austin also described his strategy of drinking beer to increase his beer belly, lowering his center of gravity and thus making it harder to throw Austin over the top rope.
Next, 5 Royal Rumble entrants and the Undisputed Champion met as Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, and Christian faced off against the APA and Rikishi.  Faarooq was in control, but Jericho hit the most feared finisher in all of sports entertainment, the BREAKDOWN! (sarcasm.)
HHH told Stephanie to stay back stage, and the Billion Dollar Princess looked sad.
HHH came out to cheers from the Continental Airlines Arena, but reminded the fans that his return from a career-ending injury wasn't complete until he won the WWF title at Wrestlemania by winning the Royal Rumble.  Stone Cold came out to disagree, but HHH wouldn't let him reach one of the turnbuckles.  They both started duking it out, with Austin looking for a Stunner, and countering the Pedigree into a backdrop.  A dazed HHH was taken out when the Undertaker hit him with a chair and Austin followed it with a Stunner.  'Taker then took out Austin with a chair and made a silent challenge to anyone trying to throw the Dead Man out of "his" yard.

The Rock entered the arena and was confronted by the Rattlesnake.  Stone Cold said that he would face the Rock for the WWF Title at Wrestlemania after Rock beat Jericho and when Austin won the Rumble.  Austin reminded the Rock that Austin had won both WWF Wrestlemania Title matches against the Great One, and the Rock said that if they each did their thing, they would meet at Wrestlemania.
RVD took control of William Regal and hit the Rolling Thunder for two, but Regal got up and took out Van Dam with the brass knuckles.
Subsequent to asking a security guard where the Rock's dressing room, Angle reminded him to address Kurt as "Mr. Angle, Olympic Gold Medalist."
Kurt stormed into the Rock's locker room and told the Rock that he would face him for the WWF Title at Wrestlemania after Kurt won the Rumble.  The Rock helped Kurt picture the match in a dream, but the Rock told him to wake up, and in reality, the Rock would hit the Rock Bottom, the Spinebuster, and then the People's Elbow for the 1-2-3.
Billy, shadowed by Chuck, came out to challenge Tajiri, who was accompanied by Torrie Wilson.  Tajiri locked in the Tarantula, but Chuck's interference let Billy hit the FameAsser for the 1-2-3.
Jazz attacked Women's Champ Trish Stratus 3 days before their match at the Royal Rumble.
DDP got his job back and a spot in the Royal Rumble by hitting the Diamond Cutter on the Big Boss Man.
Next, the Undertaker told the Rock that he didn't think the Rock could beat Jericho, but if he did, then the Dead Man would see him at Wrestlemania.
The Rock came out and told the fans that instead of having 1 winner at the Royal Rumble, everyone in the Rumble was going to win, be it HHH, Stone Cold, Kurt, Angle, Undertaker, heck even the "sick-freak!" Goldust sent the Rock a postcard saying that he was going to win the Rumble.  Rock then took the camera from a cameraman (who also was going to win the Rumble) and then scanned the crowd and said that a six-year-old kid and all of section 108 was going to win the Rumble.  The Rock said that it didn't matter who won the Rumble, but the only guarantee was that the Rock would walk out of the Royal Rumble as the Undisputed Champion.  Then, the undisputed Champion Chris Jericho's music hit as he came out to pout.  Jericho insulted the Rock, the people, and said that Smackdown was his show.  The Rock cut him off, but Jericho called him an SOB.  The Rock made his way to the ramp (where Jericho had been speaking from) and said that he was taking Jericho very seriously, and was very seriously going to whip Jericho's a** to become the Undisputed Champion.
Christian and Lance Storm squared off against Rikishi in an over the top match.  Rikishi superkicked Storm out, and Christian got backdropped over to end the match.  Then, the Big Show came out and picked up the 400+ pound Samoan and dumped him over the top.  The APA came out and worked together to eliminate the Show.  They both tried to eliminate each other in a joking manner, but Kane really eliminated them and was the Last Man Standing, possibly a sign of things to come.
Tazz and Spike Dudley were brutally assaulted by the Dudley Boyz as the Boyz 3D'd Spike onto the concrete after putting Tazz in the trunk.
Stone Cold wanted his wife to calm down and not start beating up Steph because he and HHH needed to team up for a match.
HHH told the Rock that he knew, better than anyone else, just what the Game was capable of, and that HHH would meet the Rock at Wrestlemania for the title after HHH won the Rumble!  HHH added that Rock could be champion going in to Wrestlemania, but HHH would walk out with the title.
Booker T and Kurt Angle pumped each other up about their tag match against Austin and HHH.  Angle tried to be hip, but they got into a little argument about who was going to win the Rumble.  Angle managed to patch things up.
Edge battled Test, and hit a Spear on a chair-wielding Test.  Edge then hit William Regal, who came to attack him, with a chair and decked Test as well.  After getting DQ'd, Edge hit the ref with a chair as well!
HHH told Steph that she was going to stay backstage like Debra.
Stone Cold and HHH teamed up against Booker T and Kurt Angle.  HHH got a tag from a double-teamed Austin and took out Angle and Booker, but then Austin and HHH started arguing with each other.  HHH went for a Pedigree of Booker, but got a German Suplex from Angle.  Austin hit a Stunner on Booker, and then HHH hit a Pedigree on Booker to end it.  The Undertaker came out to stare down both HHH and Austin, who were celebrating their victory until the Dead Man ruined the party.
