| Raw from Providence, Rhode Island kicked off with the nWo coming down to the ring. Hollywood Hogan talked about his viscious attack on the Rock, and said he had on good authority that the Rock would be in the arena tonight. Nash mentioned that they deserve respect, and a furious Scott Hall took the microphone and challenged Stone Cold to a match at Wrestlemania. The 3 left with Scott Hall dragging an unmentioned wheelbarrow covered with a tarp. Billy and Chuck put the Tag Team Titles on the line against the Hardy Boyz, accompanied by Lita. The Tag champs were in trouble until they countered an attempted Twist of Fate. Lita helped them recover by hitting a Litacanrana on Billy, but a Chuck Superkick to Jeff ended the match and let the champs retain the titles. Chris Jericho and Stephanie McMahon arrived together, and Jericho said he had a video surprise for the Game. Christian came into Ric Flair's office looking for the Naitch, but found only Arn Anderson, who was filling in for Flair on the night. Christian came in and said he was going to quit. DDP came from behind and gave his big, stupid smile, which Arn imitated, and DDP tried to convince Christian not to be so negative. Stone Cold agreed to Scott Hall's challenge of a match at Wrestlemania, but didn't accept the truce offered by the nWo member. William Regal offered guest commentary for the Triple Threat Match pitting Rob Van Dam vs. The Big Show vs. Lance Storm that would determine the #1 Contender for the IC Title at Wrestlemania. Big Show's size allowed him to dominate until Lance and RVD started double teaming him. RVD hit the Five Star Frog Splash on the Big Show to end the match. Booker T was busy practicing Japanese for his big commercial, and he and Test prepared for Booker's match against Rikishi. The APA were disappointed about not having a match, but they were overjoyed to get an invitation to the Friendly Tap, a bar that they destroyed on their last visit. Booker T and Rikishi traded kicks until Booker knocked out Rikishi with a kick to end the match. Jericho's video tape reminder was that HHH was out for 8 months because of Jericho's Walls of Jericho. Steph picked up the mike and, after a few comments, HHH's music hit. HHH challenged Jericho to a non title match, but Kurt Angle came out and informed everyone that Mr. McMahon had granted him a title match against Jericho on Raw. HHH pummelled Jericho while Angle left. Jazz crushed Mighty Molly to retain the Women's Title. Arn Anderson had come down to help the medics with Mighty Molly when he was attacked visciously by the Undertaker. The Dead Man busted Arn open, and said that it was on Flair's head because Flair hadn't accepted 'Taker's challenge.for a match at Wrestlemania. Next, Kurt Angle challenged Y2J for the Undisputed Title. Angle started off with his vast array of suplexes, but Jericho eventually locked in the Walls of Jericho after several tries. Jericho brought in the titles and the ring bell to either use illegally or get DQ'd, but Kurt blasted Jericho with the ring bell. Jericho countered the Ankle Lock and knocked Angle out of the ring. Kane came from the crowd and tossed Kurt back into the ring where Chris Jericho hit the most fearsome finisher in the history of the WWF, the BREAKDOWN! to retain the title. Ric Flair arrived and rushed to go check on Arn Anderson. Hollywood Hogan came into the Rock's dressing room and started trash talking a cardboard cut out of the Rock. Hogan stressed that the Rock was a fad and that he wasn't even in Hogan's league, but it would make a good match. Hogan took his weighted belt and destroyed the card board cut out and started frothing at the mouth. While the APA were having a drink at the Friendly Tap, they were attacked by Billy and Chuck, the Tag champs that have to put their titles on the line against the APA at Wrestlemania. The nWo wished Mr. Perfect good luck in his match against Stone Cold. Stone Cold came down to the ring for his match against Mr. Perfect. Perfect focused on outwrestling Austin, locking in several headlocks to frustrate the Rattlesnake. Austin eventually caught Perfect with a Stunner to end the match. The Rattlesnake checked for the nWo and got some beers when he didn't see them. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hollywood Hogan came down and softened up Austin enough for Hall to ram a cinder block into Austin's knee. As Raw went off the air, Hogan told Hall that he could handle the Rattlesnake at Wrestlemania. |
