Physical Education Department Work Study/Multidisciplinary Tutor/Learning Resource Center Specialist
I worked one year as a work study in the Physical Education Department, I kept student records updated, ordered equipment, cleaned the equipment and gym area, answered the phone and ran errands for the instructor.
I filled in as the Learning Resource Specialist (LRC), until a person was hired to fill the position. I managed the front desk and contacted individuals who had overdue books, ordered inter-library; intra-library, and OCLC materials, answered the phone, produced copies, and tutored patrons from sixth grade through college level curriculum (math, English, science, etc.) and I tutored individuals by phone. I also dealt with computer software problems in the LRC and I handled patrons that called in with computer software problems. The staff in the LRC pull me out of class, so I can fix computer software problems and help with patron tutoring when they are in a pinch. My other jobs entail me to care for one bookcase using the library of congress cataloging system; calculate daily, monthly, and yearly statistical records, proxy test for the faculty at Central Arizona College, Rio Salado, and any other college or university that send test to the LRC.
I currently am a multi-disciplinary tutor only, since a
L RC-Specialist has been hired. I manage my bookcase, and tutor patrons
in any curriculum that they need help with. I enjoy my position at the
LRC, yet like anything in life a time comes to advance, I have a bachelor
degree in elementary education and am pursuing a master in educational
technology.

Projects
Copy/Paste Assignment: I had to copy a list of web sites for the Virtual Library and Class Links section of my web page, so my instructor is able to see that I am able to use the cut paste method of computer technology.
Self Portrait Assignment: I used the draw tool to make a human self portrait of myself.
Newsletter Assignment: I produced a newsletter using clip art and column tool to divide my paper into two sections, so my information would automatically wrap. Some of my clip art I put behind text; the text would type through the clip art and I used tight so the words would wrap about the clip art. I demonstrated the various techniques one has available on the computer to spruce up ones newsletter.
Grade book Assignment: I created an imaginary class of ten students
and inserted various points earned ten various times and then highlighted
the grades and totaled the points, divided by 10 to acquire the overall
grade.
Record Database Assignment: I used my imaginary students and created
a Access database with student private information and filtered the students
in alphabetic order.
Story board Assignment: I used the draw toolbar and shapes to created a six box cartoon storyboard. I grouped the parts of my drawled image together by holding down the control-shift and selecting the various parts of the image and then going into draw, grouping. Then I was able to click on the images and copy paste each one into my other boxes.
Power Point Presentation Assignment: I embedded recorded music clips into my powerpoint and copied images from various web pages and inserted clip art into each slide to enhance instruction on a ornithologist career, linked the different slides from the menu to each slide. I also had the various text, images do various animation.
