Dallas County Democrats
Greg Gray:
Biography

This site is an ARCHIVE of the website used for the Dallas County Democratic Party from 2000 to May of 2002, and which was built by the then Chair Bill Howell. Though some information here will be relevant through the 2002 elections, other pages here are of interest for history or research. For the latest updated news about the Dallas County Democratic Party, see their own website at www.dallasdemocrats.org.

Greg was born and raised in Dallas. He and his wife Sarah have two daughters, Taylor, age three and Morgan, age two.

Greg graduated from Lake Highlands High School. After graduation, he earned a degree in Economics from the University of Texas and his law degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio.

Upon graduating from law school, Greg returned to Dallas to work for John Vance as an Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County. His trial experience is extensive. During his four years at the District Attorney's Office he tried over one hundred misdemeanor and felony trials, including everything from hot check cases to murder trials. He also tried cases for the Civil Section of the District Attorneys Office representing the County and its employees in the Civil District Courts.

Greg spent one year in the Organized Crime Division, where he tried and prosecuted mid to upper level drug dealers, and in 1996 he was selected to attend the Texas District & County Attorneys Association Top Gun Course.

The natural progression for his career was to go from representing victims and citizens of Dallas County in the criminal courts to representing people in the civil courts. As an associate working for Ted B. Lyon & Associates, P.C., he has gained extensive trial experience in the civil courts representing people in complex toxic tort cases, traumatic head injury cases, and other complex litigation.

During his career he has tried 183 trials, 104 of which have been jury trials.

This experience will ensure that justice will be served in the 191st District Court, and that all litigants who find themselves in his court will have a fair trial, presided over by a judge who has worked his entire legal career in the courtroom.
