Spring of �88. LORIMAR and all the other TV
producing companies are struck by an earthquake: their
actors threaten with escaping from the planet if their
demands aren�t accepted. If they are, too. ("What was I
thinking of when I signed this 9-year contract?", she said
as drove off her red Mercedes...).
- DYNASTY:
Tired of overly sensational cliffhangers, the producers
end this season with a monologue by BLAKE in which he
lets know his wife KRYSTLE has disappeared to die of a
mysterious sickness. At the same time, ALEXIS witnesses a
fight between her 2 ex husbands DEX (M. NADER) & SEAN. A
shot is heard and she twinkles...As this is going on,
after making up, FALLON has to hide away when JEFF
receives SAMMY JO�s visit, who agrees to marry him...That
same season, STEVEN, forever gay, KRYSTLE & DANA ran
away from CARRINGTON�S...
- FALCON CREST:
ANGELA visits somebody presumably dead in a monastery,
who might equally be CHASE or RICHARD. MAGGIE has
widowed twice with 2 boys at her charge, besides mutant
VICKIE (D. SPARKS). MELISSA takes FC away from ANGELA at
court, even thus feuding her great love LANCE or her uncle
FRANK (ROD TAYLOR). ERIC STAVROS is brainwashed to kill
RICHARD out and ANGELA abandons home swearing
revenge...and not for the last time. BTW, how many wills did
CHASE leave...? More of the same and now it looked
awful...
- KNOTS LANDING: Recycled JILL forces rival VALENE
to swallow sleeping pills and alcohol as a way to
get back GARY, who doesn�t want to know about
her...PAIGE, MICHAEL (P. PETERSEN) and her boyfriend JOHNNY are
held hostage in Mexico by a hood associate with KAREN
& ABBY at LOTUS POINT. Meanwhile, MACK faces the
tempt of having to spend the night with ranger PAULA
(M. CULEA) in a motel room...Craziness, humor and lots of
thrill for this good KL cliffhanger.
- DALLAS:
Did SUE ELLEN shoot JR to death? After watching her
lover NICK PEARCE (J. SCALIA) falling down from a high
balcony, JR�s future ex shoots him thrice! leaving him
presumably dead...After that, she calls the police and
confesses...
At the same time, CLIFF reports shower-man BOBBY
about PAM being seen away from there, using their
aunt�s last name. RAY & JENNA decide to forget his
affair with psycho CONNIE (M. SCARABELLI) and moving out
to Europe. LUCY returns to the ranch in the middle
of a crisis with MITCH and looks up to the least
proper one, like always: CASEY (A. STEVENS).
On
its l0th cliffhanger, DALLAS repeats a lot of plots
and finales, from the fight for JOHN ROSS�s custody
to KRISTIN-like death or PAM�s possible return, as
they did before with BOBBY: Will VP come back along
with her...? We�ll mention the rumor published by
tabloids about PAM reappearing IN BOBBY�S SHOWER
TOO...
The escape of the actors went on, this time with
S. KANALY & P. PRESLEY on DALLAS, L. EVANS & J. COLEMAN on
DYNASTY, ANA-ALICIA, D. SPARKS and, D. SELBY? on FC and, on
KL, maybe JOAN VAN ARK. Assets for next season: on
DALLAS, G. KENNEDY and location shooting on Austria and
Russia. On DYNASTY, they decrease the dose of ALEXIS & KRYSTLE and
2 COLBYS� stars come back: T. SCOGGINS & S. BEACHAM.
On KL, D. MILLS� last season and on FC, entrance for
a Hispano family (leaded by dull K. ALFONSO) and a
Italian one, FRANK�s ; outstanding guest star: Catalan
actress ASSUMPTA SERNA, settling down at Tuscany
Valley for awhile...
