| April 5, 2009 - I take a walk with my camera and get good photos from the other side of the pens. Also, the sheds from my far front dog yard. RPM and Tippy at large, barking at me, on the road. Brownie is back to where he spent the winter; Red Pup tied by the backless box. Yellow Dog and spotted males tied really short. April 6, 2009 - Mrs. puttering; Brownie on top of the fence, doing a tightrope walk along the boards. He's down before I can get my camera. I see him there twice. Later, Star has climbed over her fence into Brownie's pen. April 7, 2009 - Mrs. at Red Dog's pen. He's in some kind of trouble. She's talking to him and trying to fix it from outside the pen. I go upstairs to get binocs as she is opening the gate and going into the pen. By the time I get there, she's back out and fastening the gate. Dog seems to be okay now. April 9, 2009 - I'm driving back to work and the Mrs. has just fed dogs. I see a pile of food on top of Chloe's box, and she's having an awful time reaching it. What's up with that?!! When I come home I see new coverings on the rabbit pen, which means it's occupied again. Creamy and puppies? April 10, 2009 - Rain this morning. As I drive by, I see both red pups at the backless box, one in and one out, sleeping. Can't tell which one is which. April 14, 2009 - RPM and Tip in my back yard. They're wet. April 15, 2009 - Rain. I feed outside cats. Check a little later and see lots of wet dog tracks on the floor of the garage; empty food dish. I go out to take a photo and find a rug and dog muzzle on the floor. April 18, 2009 - I go to Findlay to pick up my fuzzy little dog I've adopted from the Henry County Humane Society. Stop at my sister's on the way home. Gone for almost ten hours. Wonder how much dog and cat traffic on my property, and thankful to find everyone where they're supposed to be when I get home. Too bad my cats had to go without food all day though. April 19, 2009 - Shorty is running with Tip. I run them out of my back yard. Where is RPM, I wonder. I look over there from the bedroom and don't see him tied up anywhere. But what's this?...Chloe's box is gone! The plastic box that Brownie was using for awhile is there, and a black rectangle. Yikes! It's the roof off of her box, up on end! What the hell?!! My first impression is that the box is gone, but later I decide the whole box is on end. Can't tell from here. What kind of insanity is this?!! Later, the Mrs. is home from church and feeding. She's flinging food into pens and at dogs outside of pens. Shorty seems to be tethered at Yellow Dog's box, and is eating there. I don't see Yellow Dog at all. I see the Mr. approach the tool shed and later walk away. The Mrs. takes food to the shed. Later I see her standing by the end pen, puzzling over it. Probably thinking up another "improvement." April 20, 2009 - Raining and gloomy. Shorty tied at Yellow Dog's box, really short. Or tangled around the trees. No sign of YD, or Tippie Tail. On my way to work, I see Chloe's box up on end. I've forgotten my camera. When I come back, everything is back to normal. I wonder what that was all about. April 21, 2009 - Still no sign of YD and Tip. Still raining. LOTS of barking in the tool shed. April 23, 2009 - I see the Mrs. standing by the end pen, as though contemplating what to do. It's supposed to be 80 degrees today. A little later, I see her unlocking the junk car. I hope she isn't thinking of using it for a dog pen. She's picking stuff up and looking it over; looks like mail or papers of some kind. I go to work and don't know if any dogs were put in the car. Still don't see Tip or YD. April 24, 2009 - In the 80's today. When I come home for break I see the door open on the tool shed, with a wood and wire gate across the opening. Wow! I've never seen her do that before! I wonder who's in there. No YD. Maybe he's in Shorty's pen. But why would she switch them? Why does she do anything? I finally spot RPM, tied to a tree between Spotted Dog and Bubblegum. No Tip. Or Creamy. April 25, 2009 - I need to walk Archie this morning. The neighbors are home, so it's a good time to assert my right to walk past their place. Hopefully no one will hang without being rescued. And hopefully, the Mr. will see what a bad situation it is, especially if someone gets loose. So I head out with Archie and a walking stick. As we go by, I see the Mrs. working in the garden. There's pandemonium, of course, and Tippie is out, barking but nothing worse. On the way back from the church, I see Tip and Chloe running on the road. Chloe goes up into Arnold's field. When we get to the curve, she comes at us with her hackles up. I poke my stick at her and pick up my squirming little Archie. I see the Mr. in the garden, and little grandaughter. He's saying something, but I can't see the Mrs. because of the motor home. By the time I reach their driveway, she's in the drive hanging onto Chloe. I've had to put Archie down, and we get home okay. April 29, 2009 - Tippie Tail and Brownie in my back yard, AM. Brownie's tether is looped around his hind leg. I run them off. A little later, Tip is back, and my terrier trio is having a conniption. The Mrs. is in Red Dog's pen rearranging things, the way it sounds. She moved the box yesterday. Didn't repair it though. She looks our way, but says nothing to Tip. I finally walk over to the fence and yell, "OUT!" The dog wanders toward home, and I hear the Mrs. say something. April 30, 2009 - Star has got out of her pen and wants back in. She's big as a barn! Red Pup is tethered in the end pen, where he spent the winter, and seems to be able to only go into and out of the box. The grey pup is in with him, but I never see her go near him. Can't tell if she's tied. Spotted pup is running loose with Tip. They were on the hill behind me this morning. It's been raining for three days, and Red's box is as leaky as ever. The Mrs. seems to be making a garden on the hill above their well. She has black plastic on the ground now. Just great! Now I have no privacy in my back yard, and the dogs will have one more thing to bark about. I see the neighbors drive in late. The noise dies down quick, so I don't know if they got Star back in her pen or not. |
