Derinda Howard's Will Morgan County, Ohio THE WILL OF MRS. DERINDA A. HOWARD, DECEASED In the name of the Benevolent Father of All. I, Derinda A. Howard, do make and publish this my last will and testament. Item 1st: I bequeath and devise the premises which I now occupy consisting of the house and lot at Rowland, to the Renrock (formerly Mt. Carmel) Circuit of the Methodist Protestant Church, together with Fifty dollars ($50.00) to be used for repairing the house. In case this is not accepted by the official board to be occupied by the pastors of the above named, Renrock circuit, or such other circuit as Mt. Carmel Church may be attached to, then upon their failure to accept and use it for parsonage purposes, I desire the said bequest to be given to Gracey Albrite and her heirs. Item 2nd: I desire One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) to be used in erecting tombstone at the graves of my deceased husband, Philip M. Howard and myself Derinda A. Howard. Also One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) to be used for tombstones to the graves of Rebecca Thornton and her two children, now deceased. Item 3d: I further bequeath One Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars ($125.00) to be equally divided among my beloved nephews Howard and Chester Sevall, Exco and Howard Thornton, and Sherly Howard to be used in purchasing each of them a nice suit. Item 4th: I desire the following disposition to be made of my household effects; I desire Mary Sines to have the dresser. I desire Velma Coleman to have the organ. I desire Lura and Stella Sevall, Vesta Borders, and Grace Thornton each to have a quilt and some other articles on which their names will be found, indicating whose each shall be. I desire Joseph Howard, Mary Coleman and Janey Sevall each to have a bed. I further desire that Mary Coleman and Janey Sevall shall have the rest of my household effects, and whatever, if any, ready money may be on hand, about the house. Item 5th: I devise and bequeath the farm, situate at Roland, to that one who stays with and takes the best care of me while I live, and desire that my funeral expenses be paid out of the farm. Item 5th: I further give and devise what money may be remaining, after all expenses of executing this will and testament shall be paid, together with any just indebtedness, if there be such, to be equally divided among my beloved children Joseph Howard, Mary Coleman, Janey Sevall, and the children of my other beloved daughter Becky Thornton, deceased, they to receive the share that would fall to their mother. Item 6th: I do hereby nominate and appoint Benton Sevall executor of this my last will and testament. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
