David Howard's Will
Morgan County, Ohio

     I David Howard of the County of Morgan in the State of Ohio
do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner
and form following that is to say -
     First it is my will that all my funeral expenses and all my
just debts be fully paid.
     Second I give and Devis to my oldest son James Howard the
eighty two acres of land where I now live on being in the East half
of the North West quarter of Section five in Township Eleven of
Range Eleven containig Eighty two and four hundredths of an acre
by the original Survey from the Land office as his full share of my
Estate.
     Third I give and Devise to my Daughter Rebecah Howard four
Hundred & fifty seven dollars and eighteen cents due from John F.
Talley & John Spurrier being due from them April 1st 1839 with
the interest that has accrued and the interest that may accrue on
said notes for her full share.
     Fourth and I give and devise to my youngest son Joshua D.
Howard fifty dollars to be paid to him out of the sale of the goods
[and] Chattels and other Claims due me after my Decease and the
balance made by the sale of the goods and Chattels and other Claims
due me not including the Talley [and] Spurrier notes to be equally
divided between Susannah Smith [and] Polly Fulton [and] Rachel A.
Moore, as their full shares, and further that if any of my sons
or their wives or my sons in laws or their wives brings in any
Claims or Claims for services rendered to me in my life time,
let it be understood that what I have bequeathed to them to be
their full shares or sufficient compensation for all said services
and Lastly I hereby constitute and appoint James Howard [and]
John Moore to be the Executors of this my last will and testament
revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and certifying
and confirming this and no other to be my last will and
testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this 5th day of April A.D. 1843.
