Trigg County, Kentucky

     I Robert Rogers of the County and State aforesaid being low
in body but of sound mind and memory do hereby constitute and
appoint this my Last Will and testament in manner and form to wit.
first I desire that my wife Ann Rogers shall have the improved
land and buildings whereon I now live and timber to support the
saim during her life, or as long as she remains a widdow. also my
wife is to have my negro boy Phil during her life, or widdowhood.
also my wife is to have as much of my stock as may be thought
nessery for her support. and the ballance of the stock to be sold
by my Executors hereafter naimed and the money to be put to usery.
__also what money may be on hand at that time is to be put to usery,
and should my wife Ann Rogers be brought to want by affliction
she is to be relieved from the above monney belonging to my Estate
__also it is my desire that my son Robert Rogers have two hundred
acres of my land including the plantation where I now live at his
mother's death or marriage__I also desire that my Daughter Polly
Rogers have one Bed and furniture also she is to have as much
property as my other daughters received when they married, when she
comes of age or marries__also it is my desire that my daughter Lucy
Rogers have one bed and furniture also she is to have as much
property as any of my other daughters received when they married
when she comes of age or marries__also the ballance of my land to
be sold and the money put to usery. I also desire that all my
children Except my son Robert Rogers who got his part aloted in
Land shall have an equal proportion of my estate, and those that
have received more than the rest that part shall be deducted out,
so as to give every one an equal part. that is to say my son John
and daughters Sally, Lette, Elizabeth, Jinney, Nancy, Polly, and
Lucy. and be it understood that the property on hand at the death
of my wife Ann Rogers or her marriage than to be sold of and this
division made__and at the day od said sail should John Good or any
of his sons be the highest bidder for my negro boy Phil it is my
will and desire that Phil may go to the Good family again__also
I constitute and appoint my wife Ann Rogers, my son John Rogers and
my son Robert Rogers my true and lawful executors to act and manage
my estate according to my will and this my last will and testament
written with my own hand [and] signed in presents of us this 30th
day of September 1820.

Codicil to will of Robert Rogers Trigg County, Kentucky November the 13th, 1829 I Robert Rogers Senr. being weak and afflicted in body but of perfect mind and memory and considering the uncertain estate of all transitory things and that all flesh must yield to death when it shall please God to call them do make this addition to my Last will and Testament confirming and making valid all things therein contained but having aquired some property scince that was written signed and confirmed__ The property here alluded to is my negro slaves "viz" Jenny and her three children Edy, Squire, [and] Tom Turner and their increase all of whom I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ann Rogers during her natural life or widowhood if she shall choose to keep them together or if she may think best to hire them all or any part of them my executors shall be and is hereby authorized to hire them for her and apply the proceeds of the hire to the proper use and benefit of her my wife above named if necessary and if not to loan it out for her with interest thereof all of which hire and interest to be applied to her proper use and benefit if necessary and if not the money to be applied to the balance of the money belonging to my estate at the death of my wife Ann Rogers. and this my last addition to my former will and testament Signed and acnowledged in presents of us.      I James E. Thompson Clerk of the County Court for the County
aforesaid do certify that the foregoing will and codicil of Robert
Rogers deceased was on the 13th day of March 1837 proven in open
court according to law by the oath of Byrgess Sizemore a subscribing
witness thereto and was ordered to be recorded. Whereupon said will
and codicil together with this certificate hath been duly admitted
to record in my office.
     Given under my hand this 27 day of Sept. 1837
