Darn! Rohga thought. Seeing the way Mekhasa got captured so easily…the armies of the star she was attacking must be very sophisticated…maybe they have androids like ours…. The General-of-the-Army strode through the halls of Catara Palace. He entered a throne room then kneeled before the throne, his eyes averted to the floor. "Lord Cecilium, the attack on the star called Earth was successful, yet my sister…she…" he began.

"She…what, General?" the emperor asked.

"She was captured, Sire," Rohga replied hesitantly.

"CAPTURED?!" the emperor roared, bolting up from his throne.

"The armies of the star called Gaea seem to have a sophisticated and well trained army. Experienced too, unlike us…no offence to your honorable name, Sire," Rohga said.

Emperor Cecilium was enraged. His chest heaved as he glared down at Rohga (not being mad at the General-of-the-Army, though), his fangs bared. "This means WAR! Go get as much soldiers as you need. Go to Gaea and attack! I want General Mekhasa back in command! Go as soon as possible. If you think training is necessary, go ahead. We need to destroy this star once and for all!"

"Aye, Sire," Rohga said. He arose, saluted the emperor, took several steps back, then left the throne room.

Cecilium (named after his ancestor, Emperor Cecilium the First) sat back in his throne and narrowed his eyes. "They’ll pay for capturing one of our officers!" he snarled under his breath.

Folken and Viole, along with some other Dragonslayers, were standing before Mekhasa’s cell, observing the sleeping hybrid.

"Hmm…she’s going to be a big threat…" Folken said. He turned to Viole. "Let’s finish her off."

"Yes, Lord Folken," Viole said. He unlocked the door and opened it. The other Dragonslayers, chains in hands, entered and began binding Mekhasa.

"What the…?!" Mekhasa groaned, waking up. "GRARGH! STOP IT!" She struggled to get free, but it was too late. The Dragonslayers had already bound her tightly in chains. "What are you doing to me?" she snarled.

"I see you have caused…" Folken paused, observing the scratched and dented door, "…much commotion in the prison cells…"

Mekhasa snarled, pulling at her bonds. "Yes, so?"

"You’re coming with us," Folken said. He nodded to the Dragonslayers and walked out of the prison cell, down the halls and into a laboratory. He smiled an evil smile as he watched Mekhasa being strapped down to a platform. "Let’s see what my new invention can do…" he said, bringing down an odd contraption from a shelf nearby. He got two wires that were dangling from it and placed them in Mekhasa’s ears. "Brace yourself, this might hurt," he said, pressing a button.

Mekhasa roared in agony, then went limp. Her eyes went out of focus, then closed.

Folken smiled in triumph. "Let’s leave her alone for a while."

Lina looked out of her window, staring at Earth. "Mom…what are you doing now?" she whispered. She started to sob. Everything had happened so suddenly, it was hard for Lina to adapt to the changes. "Mom…Dad…home…" she whispered before crying herself to sleep.

~*~two weeks later (in Gaean time)~*~

A tall Dragonslayer walked down the halls, searching for Viole. "Where is he?" she muttered.

Eriya came walking around the corner. She regarded the Dragonslayer with a critical eye, then flicked her tail and kept walking. The Dragonslayer watched Eriya go then rolled her eyes. Just because I have a more leopard like appearance doesn’t mean that I’m not as good as you, she thought. She continued to walk down the halls, then found Viole walking back from lunch. The hybrid beamed. "Hello, Viole! I was looking all over for you! Man, the Vione is really complicated to navigate oneself through!" said the Dragonslayer.

Viole smiled. "Hello, Katomi. How was training?" he asked.

"Interesting…pretty interesting…. I was wondering…why is my guymelef different than yours and everyone else’s? Even my suit is different," said Katomi, looking down at the suit she was wearing.

It was certainly different. It had a white jacket which reached down one third of the way down her thighs. Katomi also wore white pants which had black lines down the sides and white boots. It was odd…to Katomi that is.

"You look nice in that suit. You shouldn’t complain. At least you get a suit which doesn’t take in so much heat," Viole said, crossing his arms. "As for your guymelef…I don’t know why it’s shaped different. Maybe it’s because you’re hybrid."

"I suppose…" Katomi said. She shrugged. "Well, where are you going?"

"Nowhere in particular. Do you want to train with me?" Viole said.

"Sure. I don’t see why not."

The two friends went to the hangers and got into their guymelefs, and soon, they were fighting each other, laughing and calling out challenges. Dilandau and Folken stood watching the pair.

"That Katomi is a good one. She has been with us for a week, yet she’s that good," Folken said. "Loyal too."

"It’s quite weird if you ask me. I’m so used to keeping BOYS in line, not hybrids…why did you have to make her a Dragonslayer?" Dilandau said, arms crossed.

"She’s a good fighter. She’ll please you," Folken said.

Dilandau rolled his eyes. "Well, she’s not pleasing me at the moment!" he said.

"Be patient. You’ll see soon enough."

"You know patience isn’t my strong point!"

"Well, you have no choice BUT to wait."

Dilandau let out an annoyed sigh and strode out of the room. Folken watched the duo fight for a little bit longer, then followed him out.

Rohga was leading his group of soldiers toward Gaea. Just several more hours to go, he thought. Mekhasa, please be alive.

The score of androids flew through a black hole, entering the universe that Gaea was in.

James and Kara were still planning what to do about Lina. For days they had looked through their belongings to find anything that could lead them to their beloved daughter. So far…no success. Kara sighed and leaned against a wall. Earth was more or less under the rule of the hybrids now, and the humans were forced to live in underground cities. To get everyone out of this mess, the couple had to first find Lina…but how?

Kara sighed and slid down the wall. "If only there was one little miracle…. One miracle, that’s all I ask for…"

James nodded.

Lina reached down her shirt and pulled out her lucky charm necklace. Her mother had given it to her when she was young. A tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered the day when Kara gave it to her.

~*~flashback~*~

"Lina! Come here. I have a present for you," Kara called.

Seven year old Lina ran to her mother. "What is it Mommy?" she asked.

Kara took off necklace fro around her neck and put it around Lina’s. "It’s Mommy’s lucky charm. It has magic. I think it’s your turn to have it now," she said.

Lina looked down a the purple stone which hung by a black leather thong. "Pretty!" she said, hugging her mother.

~*~end of flashback~*~

The purple rock glowed in the darkness, illuminating Lina’s dirty face. The girl ran her fingers over it, admiring its beauty. The purple rock was in the shape of a perfect orb. It had no faults. It was an ideal piece of jewelry, though Lina never knew what kind of rock it was…. It seemed to give Lina warmth. It comforted her like a mother would. It gave her love…Lina could feel it, though she never knew how a rock could give somebody love….

Suddenly, a name popped into her mind. It wasn’t a name she was familiar with though…it sounded quite unusual….

"Leiren," she whispered. "Wait…I think Mom used to talk about him…."

The purple rock just sat in her palm, letting out its light as Lina tried to remember what her mother had said to her before. Leiren…Leiren…
