The Family of Henry Martyn WALTON
 and Lydia Magdalena NEILL
(5th. Generation)

18-Henry Martyn WALTON, b. 9 Jan 1827, Charles Town, Jefferson Co., WV, son of William Claiborne and Lucinda (MUSE) WALTON, d. 7 Apr 1877, Duffields, Jefferson Co., m. ______, (19) Lydia Magdalena NEILL, b. 3 Jan 1825, Jefferson Co., dau. of Lewis and Corbina (BAKER) NEILL, d. 10 Apr 1877, Duffields, Jefferson Co., WV. A marriage licenses has not been found, but from census records, it appears that they were married after 1860. In the 1850 census, Henry is enumerated with his mother, Lucinda WALTON in Jefferson Co., VA, and in 1860, he is clerking in a store, living with his brother, Robert in Rockingham Co., VA. Anne Miller HOCKMAN, a WALTON genealogist, sent to me from her mother's notes, an obituary concerning the death of Henry WALTON. However, there is a discrepancy between the death of his wife in the Jefferson Co., death records, and the obituary. The obituary says that she died 15 Mar 1877, and the death records states that she died on the 10 Apr 1877, four days after his death. No tombstones have been located for either of these ancestors. I suspect that they may have been buried in a family plot on the farm in which they lived, and that the location has long been forgotten. The obituary states that he died of pneumonia, that he was "an estimable citizen and enjoyed the esteem of his friends and neighbors. They had only one daughter:
