May 1863, Urbana, Champaign Co., OH, s/o Wendel and Mary (MONG) SEIBERT, m. 27 Dec 1806, Berkeley Co., VA, Catherine BOWERS, b. 29 Jul 1790, d. 5 Dec 1862, possibly the d/o Henry BOWERS, the suretor for the marriage. John was a farmer. He patented a section of land in Champaign Co., in 1830. It appears that the last child born in VA, was John Winter SEIBERT in 1826/27. The last child born in the family would be Jacob SEIBERT b. 1832 in OH; the family move to OH must have occurred between 1826 and 1832. In 1850, John and Catherine, with the youngest child, Jacob, were living in Urbana, OH. (FH4, OHCH3, WVBE1) Children:

98.2b-Samuel SEIBERT b. 27  Sep 1810, VA, d. 18 Oct 1898, m. Maria ________, b. c1813 VA. Samuel was a farmer living in Moorefield  Twp., Champaign Co., OH in 1860. (OHCH4) Children:

98.2d-George SEIBERT, b. 25 Dec 1814, VA, d. 25 Jan 1877, m. Mary _______, b. c1817 OH. In 1850, they were living in Urbana, Champaign Co., OH. (OHCH3) Children:

98.2g-Henry SEIBERT, b. 11 Dec 1824 VA, d. 1901, m., Rosannah AMBROSE, b. c1827 VA, d. bef. 1900, Taylor Co., IA He came to OH with his parents at age 6. In the 1850 Census, Henry, a farmer, and Rosannah were living in Salem Twp., Champaign Co., OH. At that time his brother, John W., wife, Catherine, and child Amelia were living with them. In 1860, they had moved to Moorefield, Twp., Clark Co., OH, just across the county line. Lavinia Hanes, 20, b. OH, was a domestic in the 1860 household. According to his biography, the family moved to IA in 1855, where he bought land in David Co., and lived for 11 years, moving to Taylor Co., IA c1866. In 1870)__________________________________________. In 1880, they were farming in Grove Twp., Taylor Co., and by 1900, Henry is a widower, with only the youngest child, Margaret E. in the household. 98.2g1- F.R. or P.R. or Philander SEIBERT b. c1844 OH, d. c1876, m. Pauline, b. c1847, OH. In the 1850 census, F.R.; in the 1860 census, Philander; in 1870, he is living in Mason City Twp., Mason Co., IL, with his family. His father's biography states that F.R. died in 1876, age 32. 98.2g5-Malcomb B. SEIBERT, b. c1856, OH, m. Julia _____, b. c1855 NY (parents were natives of NY). In 1880 they were living in Grove Twp., Taylor Co., IA, and in their household was Annie SEIBERT 11, b. IL, listed as neice, as yet to be identified. In 1895, they were in Marshall Twp, Taylor Co. In 1895, they were living in Marshall Twp., Taylor Co., IA. (IATA3, 9) Childen:

98.2g6-Samuel F. SEIBERT, b. 22 Cot 1857, Clark Co., OH, d. 27 Jul 1880, Ross Twp., Taylor Co., IA, m. Nancy _____?, b. c1859 OH (parents native of IN and OH). There were no children in the only census (1880) in which Samuel F. appears. His obituary states the cause of death as "excitement and meddlesomeness of mother-in-law", obviously the original "mother-in-law from hell".  He had been a resident of IA for 4 years. In his father's biography, he is listed as one of the children who died at age 22. Samuel is buried in Taylor Co., IA. (IATA3, 8) No children.

98.2g8-Isaac Newton SEIBERT, b. Oct 1861, OH, m. Mary _____, b. Dec 1861, IA, d/o ______ and Eliza _____. In 1900, they were living in CWY????, Taylor Co., IA. His mother-in-law, Eliza, a widow, b. Apr 1822 IN is in the household. They had been m. 17 years. (IATA4) Children:

98.2h-John Winter SEIBERT, b. 21 Jul 1826, VA, m. Catherine _____, b. c1821 VA. In 1850, John, Catherine, and Amelia were living with John's brother, Henry, in Salem Twp., Champaign Co., OH (see census record for 98.2g in research record). In 1860 they were farming in Moorefield Twp., Clark Co., OH. They probably moved to Mason City, IL in the summer of 1870, for the last child b. on or before 1870, was b. in OH. The child Amelia, must have died at an early age. She does not appear in any census after 1850. Harry L. does not appear after 1880, and may have also dy. By 1880, they had moved to Backhart, Christian Co., IL. In 1910 John was living with his dau. Sarah ADAMS in KS. (ILCR1, ILMN1, OHCL4)

98.2h2-Charles E. SEIBERT, b. c1851 OH, m. 11 Jan 1872, Mason Co., IL, Alice WELCH, d/o _____ and Mary M. WELCH (parents native of KY and IN). In 1880, they were farming in Clear Creek Twp., Stafford Co., KS. Mary M. WELCH, his mother-in-law was living with them, as were Inah O. McCan, 17, b. IL, Shepherd, and Clarence E. McCan, 21, b. IL, a farm laborer (their parents were natives of KY and IN) (KSSF1, ILMN2)

98.2h4-Sarah SEIBERT, b. c1857, OH, m. Raymond ADAMS, b. c1858, VA. In 1910, they resided in Macksville, Stafford Co., KS. In the household were also Roy HART 23, b. IL, step-son, Elmer Zerkle 19, b. MO, boarder, and John SEIBERT 83, b. VA, father-in-law (of Raymond). The stepson, Roy HART would indicate that Sarah was probably m. to a HART prior to marrying Raymond ADAMS. (KSSF4)
