The Partial Autobiography

This is a partial autobiography in that R. W. MORROW,
of Oakland, MD, died before he could finish the last section. The final section,
" The
Oakland Years, 1957-1997", consisted of four stacks of note cards
he planned to use to finish the story. In a few of these notes, some of us know
what he was referring to through conversations with him in the last few years of
his life. To that extent, those who know, may add to the text what they feel he
was trying to say. All of the beginning 14 sections were hand written on
notebook paper, and he used these notes to read into a tape recorder creating an
oral history. I acquired these notes in 1996, a year prior to his death, with
the intent of putting them on the computer to have a hard copy to accompany the
taped version. While listening to the tapes and reading the text, it was
discovered that in some cases, he adlibbed some additional material onto the
taped version. In the meantime, I had finished the MORROW Genealogy, and it was
a natural step to convert the hard copy to html files, with the purpose of
adding this material to the section on R. W. MORROW (1914-1997). As you
read the text, the adlibbed material is highlighted in another color from the
regular text, whether it is whole paragraphs, sentences, sentence fragments, or
words. Footnotes have been added at the bottom of each page to explain some of
the material. Each footnote will have the initials of the contributor in the end
of the footnote. Those who wish to contribute to the footnotes should email me
(Dale) at their convenience.
