KERNEY, b. 5 Jan 1846, d/o John T. and Emily KERNEY, d. 11 Jan 1903, Vesper, KS. In the 1880 census they were in Grant Twp., Lincoln Co., KS, with Albert SEIBERT 22, b. Va in teh household. Wendel appears in the Lincoln Co., KS 1885 census, in Grant Twp., with his wife Eliza , and their oldest son, William Allen MONG, all b. in WV. In the state 1895 census they are still living in Grant Twp., and in 1918, Wendel is listed as a land owner in Grant Twp., Section 22, with 160 acres. In 1885, there is also an A. SEIBERT, a male, age 25, b. in WV, in the house hold. Either in the same household or a house on the property is a Shepard family, all from IN. I suspect the Seibert is a cousin to either Wendel or Eliza, and the Shepherd family may also be from the Berkeley/Jefferson Co., WV area. In 1920 and 1910 Wendel was farming in Grant Twp.
