In 1870, Elizabeth is living with son Lloyd in Shepherdstown. The only other reference I have found concerning Adam, is one in John Blackford's diary of Ferry Hill Plantation, the mansion situated across the Potomac River from Shepherdstown in Maryland. Adam LICKLIDER tried to collect a bill from Blackford. Blackford believed the was too high for the work completed, held out for awhile, finally paying the bill to Adam after the third or fourth attempt. Elizabeth POWELL was married previously to a John BARNES in 1818, in Middletown. By her first husband she had one child, John Thomas BARNES. Adam and Elizabeth were the parents of six children. In 1824, Adam bought property from Daniel Folk. He was involved in a trust between he and Andrew Kennedy in 1827, and Edmund I. Lee in 1835. In 1846, he was the trustee for the estate of Andrew Kennedy. They are buried in the Lutheran Cemetery in Shepherdstown.
