HOWARD PROJECTION

There is no direct evidence to date (Mar 2003) that Anna Maria HOWARD, (see #66) wife of Henry HARTSOCK is the daughter of Thomas HOWARD (#134 below), and I hesitate to declare this line until I have further proof. However, there is some circumstantial evidence that this may be the correct line. Thomas died testate in Frederick Co., MD, therefore leaving no record of his descendants. The author of Anne Arundel County Gentry, believes that the children of  Thomas were Cornelius, Vachel, and William, and states that more children must exist. Henry HARTSOCK, husband of Anna Maria, was a witness to the will of William HOWARD #134.4. Anna Maria is not named in the will, but could have been a sister of William HOWARD. Henry HARTSOCK, if he were a brother-in-law, would have been in a position to be a witness. To complicate matters, I recently came across a will of a John MYERS in Frederick Co., who names his son-in-law, Henry HARTSOCK as executor of his will, which I'm in the process of investigating. It may well prove that Henry HARTSOCK'S wife was a MYERS, and the following HOWARD PROJECTION is completely wrong. .
