In 1855, he moved to West Point, Lee Co., IA, and in 1866 removed to Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., IA, where he was engaged in a stove and tineware business, M F BURKETS, with is two sons, John G. and Wilbur F. BURKET. The business was located at 135 N. Broadway St., in Mt. Pleasant which was still in operation in 1893. Their residence was at 507 Broadway. (FH25,ILHEB2,6) Children:
