HOUSER, b. 23 Dec 1757, Beaver Creek, d. 7 Nov 1829, age 71y 10m 15d, Washington Co. In most cases, the wife is listed as Maria, however, a granddaughter in Ogle Co., IL, states that her names was Susannah. Samuel, who owned several farms, was a farmer and miller. They belonged to the Mennonite Church. They are buried on the William FUNK Farm, north of Mt. Lena, near Beaver Creek, Washington Co., MD. (FH25, ILOGB1, MDWAB1 p993, 2, 8) Children:

In 1856, he sold the farm and moved to IL to live with his daughter, Barbara BOVEY. Mary, their daughter, Lydia , and the 2nd. wife Susannah are buried at Mt. 218.1h3b Savilla M. BOVEY, b. 5 Mar 1850, Ogle Co., IL, m. 29 Dec 1868, Charles W. JOHNSON, b. 27 may 1845, Jefferson Co., VA, s/o Aaron H. and Marietta (BOONE) JOHNSON, settled Pine Creek in 1846. Charles attended Rock River Seminary, and taught school for 7 years. He farmed in the summer. He enlisted during the Civil War in Co. I, 140th. IL Vol. Inf., and was engaged in three conflicts in SW TN. He was discharged 29 oct 1864. After returning fromthe war, he resumed teaching, farming, and raising stock on a 216 acre of land, land Peter Newcomer settled in 1842. Apparently there were no children. They resided in Mt. Morris, IL. In the 1850 Ogle Co., IL, she was living with Samuel and Barbara BOVEY in Pine Creek Twp. There is a 3 page obituary describing her life, which goes into much detail of her life in Washington Co., MD, prior to going to IL, and her travels across the country.
