Frequently Asked Questions
What is a colander?

Colander is a way of life.  There was a time when it was but a dream.  You could but whisper it's name and it would disappear.  That's how fragile it was.  But through hard work and discipline, it became a reality.  Okay.  That's actually from "Gladiator" and has nothing to do with us, but I thought it sounded cool.  As to the real answer, I'll just get all Socratic on you and ask you a question back.  Ever cook spaghetti?

And as to the reason we're called colander...Well, we're not going public with that just yet.  We must retain our feminine mystique.  Or something.

Our band really wants to do a show with you.  What do we do?

Well, you can e-mail me at [email protected] and we will converse and work it out.  Don't get too hung up if it's not for a lot of money.  We've played shows for less.  I think the worst was for -$45.  And we had to drive 2 hours to get there!  Hopefully it's a little better, but don't be shy, mon.

What the hell is a Jinichimichi?

It's a song by that hip band, Colander.  My last band got called a "hip-band" in the yearbook.  What does that mean, anyway?  What is a hip band?  Is it a new style of music?  Yes!  Henseforth, Colander will be known as a hip-band.  Wait, no.  That makes us sound like stoners with poor grooming habbits.

Oh, answer the question?  Okay.  Blink 182 had a shirt with some kanji (Chinses-style characters) on it that were not real kanji, but a bunch of squiggles that didn't mean anything.  And I checked with Yoshida-Sensei, my Japanese teacher.  Anyhow, the pronounciation would be Jinichimichi.  Chris needed a song-title for the song that would become Jinichimichi, and decided on this snappy configuration of sounds.  And I can write it in both hirigana and katakana!  Score!

If Colander has been broken up for such a long time, why do you continue to update the page?

Leave me alone, jerkoff!  I'll update the page if I want to!  Actually, it's because I liked being in this band and running this page so gosh darn much.  It's like a little slice of me.  Granted, I don't update it that OFTEN anymore, but hey, we've been broken up for about a year.  Perhaps later it will cover some of my other bands, but that's getting too far ahead of myself.  The long and short of it is, I want to and you can't make me stop! So neener!
