Michael & Rachel's twin daughters Kayla Grace and Peyton Liberty were born July 23, 2004. Kayla was born @ 6:23 PM and weighed 4 lb 4.7 oz. Peyton was born @ 6:33 PM and weighed 4 lb 11 oz. Mom and babies are doing well. The babies had to stay in the hospital because they were born at a little more than 33 weeks and they had not developed the instinct to eat and breath at the same time. Everything else with them appears to be perfect and they quickly developed the instinct and were able to go home on Saturday August 7. By the time they were 4 months old they had surpassed the minimum for size and development for their age and are no longer considered premies. When we visited in January 2005 they each weighed more than 17 pounds and they were rolling over from back to front an from front to back. They hold themselves up on their arms and can move backwards a little.

After years of switching between doing roofing and putting up pool enclosures, Mike has settled into making the pool enclosure sections in shop for others to install. He is extremely good at home repairs and improvements. He completely remodeled his Mom's house and then remodeled the house next door to his Mom's that he and Rachel rented until they bought the house they now live in.
Rachel works in law enforcement. We are not sure exactly what the name of the position is. Her main duty is interviewing people that have just been arrested. In January Rachel started a private investigator business. She will continue to do both jobs until the new business is successful enough to allow her to leave the other job.
With Michael's moving into the shop to work, Rachel no longer has to worry about Michael falling off a roof or the top of a pool enclosure and Michael looks forward to the day the private investigator business becomes successful so he can stop worrying about Rachel being alone in an interview with criminals.
Michael and Rachel became full time parents in 2000 when his daughter Kristina came to live with them after her Mom passed away. They are doing an excellent job.
Michael and Rachel's family expanded on July 23, 2004 when their twin daughters Kayla and Peyton were born.
