Place Values of Numbers
Grouping and Place Value
By Sunburst Software
Students
develop their sense of our number system in a variety of grouping activities.
Students place familiar objects into equal groups of tens and hundreds, then
count out their objects into smaller groups based on sets of ones, tens, and
hundreds. Students gain practical experience working with money and a firm
understanding of our number system. Students become more comfortable working
with larger numbers. With an active understanding of place value, they are able
to engage in dynamic addition and subtraction.
