This is the first saga of DBZ. In this saga Goku and Piccolo first fight Raditz, Goku's brother. They are hopelessly being beat down until Gohan goes into action trying to save his father after seeing that he was being hurt. When Gohan is knocked out Piccolo does a special beam cannon. However the first time it fails, but the second time it works however Goku had to die as well cause he held Raditz down. Then Goku trains with King Kai while Piccolo trains with Gohan. After 1 year Vegeta and Nappa come. Nappa releases small green guys. Then those are defeated. Nappa defeats everyone until Goku is wished back from King Kai's. When Goku arrives he easily defeats Nappa, then Vegeta kills him. The fight with Vegeta and Goku lasts along time with Vegeta turning into a monkey. Then when Vegeta's tail is cut he turns back. The way it all ends is with Goku using a spirit bomb thrown by Krillin. Vegeta is spared and retreats. Little did they know he would be an important ally later on.
In this saga, which is kinda really the Ginyu Force Saga, the gang goes to Namek. From the start finding the Dragonballs is a pain in the butt. Then when they learn about Frieza the crap hits the fan. Frieza sends out his special forces men, the Ginu Force. The first couple arent too terribly hard, but then comes Jeice and Burter. They fight Goku however Burter is defeated and Jeice runs like a bat out of hell to Captain Ginu. When Ginu arrives he fights Goku. When he learns Goku's power level is higher than his he steals Goku's body and fights Gohan,Krillin and Ginyu....or er.....Goku. When Vegeta arrives to finish Ginu, Ginue decides to switch bodies again. But Goku does some last minute thinking and throws a frog in the path. Ginyu is now a frog and Goku is back to his normal, but injured self. Vegeta teams up with them and Goku is put in a healing capsule.
This starts when Vegeta fights with Frieza. Vegeta does a good job but Frieza shows off his power and destroys Vegeta. Then Piccolo fights Frieza (he fused with Nail) he does very well but Frieza goes into his final form and defeats Piccolo. When Goku arrives, Vegeta dies and then the battle begins. Goku was losing until he did a gigantic spirit bomb, which they thought killed Frieza. But Freiza comes back and kills Krillin and injures Piccolo more. This causes Goku to go Super Saiyan. While this is going on, Dante summons the Dragon and makes a wish. Frieza sees this and Goku and Frieza race to the dragon, however you have to say the wish in Namekian. Then all the people that were killed by Frieza are brought back to life and everyone except Goku and Frieza are wished off the planet. This allows Goku to fight Frieza with no worries. Frieza ends up chopping himself in half. Goku gives Frieza some energy and leaves but Frieza tries again to kill Goku, but Goku kills Frieza with a final blast. Then Goku it seems is unable to get away from Namek and is "blown up" with the planet.
