In this section I'll
cover the services and my driving impressions of the car.

Nothing of
note was done, just the usual Audi service |
| 10,000 mile |
Again
nothing of note was done, however I did switch to Mobil 1 full synthetic
oil 10W-30 |

The
drivers seat started to make a creaking sound the dealer looked into it
and tightened the seat, this fixed the problem. Again oil changed with
Mobil 1. |

Again the
drivers seat is creaking and now it's rocking too, also I think the rear
brakes may need to be replaced. Well the dealer tightened the seat again
to "fix" the problem (it's fin for now), as for the brakes they
said their within spec!?!?!? Again oil changed with Mobil 1. |

Ok this is
the last time, the seat is moving now more then it did at the 45K mark!!!
This time the dealer ordered some seat brackets and bushings...these
should fix the problem permanently. Again the oil was changed using Mobil
1, I made another appointment to install the seat parts on 07/13/2001.
Also at that time a tech is going to take a ride with me to diagnose a
strange noise that the car is making when shifting at or above the 4K RPM
mark. |

This was
my first unscheduled visit to the dealer, and actually it's wasn't supposed
to be anything big just replacing the seat brackets and bushings...they
also were going to look into the strange noise. Well things went bad
really quickly, first off the dealer (Howard Cooper) managed to loose the
parts they ordered. They also managed to put a nice size scratch in my
paint near my fuel door...and to top things off they now know what's
causing that noise. It seams that my turbo is about to die, wonderful so
basically it was a crappy visit all and all. So now I've got to bring the
car back in so they can fix the seat and turbo, one problem the next
appointment isn't until August 13th and I'll be overseas. Now I have to
drop off my car before I leave, August 2nd, and trust that they'll fix
everything correctly and not hurt my car anymore then they already
have!!!! Needless to say I'm not too thrilled with Howard Cooper at the
moment. |
