| The cancellation of this
cover is of Kattale Basadi of Barakuru ( Udupi Taluk ) which was dedicated
to Parsvanatha. It was built in 15th Century A.D during the period
of Devaraya, Vijayanagara Empire. An inscription from Keravase ( Karkala
Kaluk) mentions grant of land for worship of Parsvanatha and also for
providing food to the Jaina gurus of this Basadi.
