A Do It Yourself Board Game

Did you know that there are stamps issued on all the famous Disney characters ?

This board game is based on the popular Snakes and Ladders with the introduction of Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book. Mogwli, the jungle boy, is on his way to meet his girl. Mogwli swings through the jungle meeting Baloo, Bhageera, Kaa, King Louise of Bunder-log, Col. Hathi and Sher Khan. He halts to play with Junior of the Jungle Patrol. The objective of the game is to reach the village at the earliest with the throw of the dice. Players 2 or more.

The game starts with the throw of the dice. Mowgli is sleeping. Only with a Six does he wake up, yawn, and start off on the Jungle run. The player who gets a Six can start. Like the Snakes and Ladder the player advances number of steps as indicated by the thrown dice. Meeting various people on the way results in a certain action. Meeting

Baloo: Baloo the bear, the ever helpful friend of Mowgli, pushes him up one step to the next layer. Player moves straight up and gets one more chance.

Bhageera: A ride on the Black Panther, Bhageera’s back amounts to jump of six places as he leaps through the jungle. Player moves forward six more places and gets one more chance.

Kaa: “Assp”, says Kaa the Rock Python. Kaa has just shed his skin and cannot see clearly. He thinks Mowgli belongs to the mad Bunder-log. Mogwli, in trying to escape the hypnotizing dance, falls to the layer below to Kaa’s tail. The player, if he falls into Kaa’s mouth, goes to the tail.

King Louise of Bunder-log: These mad monkeys do not know the Law of the Jungle. The outcome of falling into their hands cannot be predicted. The player throws the dice again and goes back number of steps indicated by the dice.

Sher Khan: Sher Khan, the lame tiger, is to be avoided at all costs. If Mowgli meets Sher Khan he should go back to the place he came from. The player retraces his steps back to the place he was at the time of throwing the dice.

Col. Hathi: The elephant commander helps Mowgli with a ride with the patrol. The player gets to move forward by 3 steps.

Junior: The small elephant is lost from the patrol. Mowgli plays with Junior and the player misses his chance once.

Rules:
1) Getting a six usually means one more chance at throwing the dice.
2) The Player forfeits this chance if he/she meets someone on the way who causes him/her to go back e.g. Sher Khan, King Louise etc.
3) At start all player get to throw the dice 3 times. The second round onwards they get a single chance.
4)
Rules are meant to be broken. Make your own rules. The idea is to make the game and Enjoy It!

The game has been designed on 4 sheets of paper. You have to cut and paste them to make single big board. If you like the game and want to play it again and again I advice you to stick the paper to a cardboard sheet. The file mowgli.zip contains mogwli.pdf.
