Why did you want to play Ray in Uptown Girls?
I liked the whole story. Ray was nice at the end and she really learned something. Molly taught her how to have fun being a kid but also showed her the importance of growing up and responsibility for her life.
Are you anything like your character Ray in your own life?
I'm not mean like Ray was at the beginning of the movie, but I'm neat and clean and kind of a germ freak like her. In preparation for the role, I watched The Odd Couple (an old TV show) because it's similiar to Uptown Girls, as it's about two totally different personalities who are living together in an apartment.
Are you still busy acting?
Yes. I am in Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers and then I have Man on Fire comimg out with Denzel Washington and Radha Mitchell.
What do you do when you're not working? Do you go to school and live normally?
I have a teacher that goes with me on all my movies - I love school. I also play with my baby dolls, paint my toenails and play with my sister Elle, who is five and my three best friends, Danny, Molly and Laura. I have been reading since I was two-and-a-half, that's one of my favorite things to do. I'm about 90 pages into the new Harry Potter book, so that's fun. My favorite subject, besides reading, is history. But I also get to do something else I love - which is act, so otherwise it's a normal life.
What celebrity have you been most excited about meeting?
I met Britney Spears last night, actually, and I talked to her this time. Last time when I saw her I was too scared to say anything except 'thank you' when she said she liked me in the movie I am Sam!
What is the best advice you ever got from an actor about your career?
Denzel Washington told me, 'If you always are humble and treat everybody the way you want to be treated, you will go even further.' It is so much of an honor to do a movie with him.
What do you spend your money on?
I don't get an allowance, but my favorite thing to buy is probably lip gloss!
