| UW Cup |
| The UW Cup tournament will begin on Week 15 of the MLS season and will conclude in a Cup Final on week 22. This tournament consists solely of single elimination matches. Seeding throughout the tournament will be based upon Yahoo point standings at the end of Week 14. In case of a tie in the league table, the most recent weekly result (week 14) will be used to determine seeding. Tournament Seeding (Divisions) Note - When Yahoo makes scoring corrections they will be accepted for purposes of placement in the league table, team averages, and national averages. Any scoring changes that take place during head to head cup competitions will be used only if they are made before the Yahoo deadline for the following week's rosters. Changes made after the deadline can not be used to change the outcome of a match. Otherwise a cup finalist might suddenly find that he was eliminated in the first round weeks ago by virtue of this change. One exception to this rule will be made for the UW Cup final. Since there is a Friday game on the week of the Final match, the score will not be made official until two days after the normal deadline (Sunday night). The Tie Breaker for all rounds will be total Yahoo points for the season. The team with the higher Yahoo points will win the tie. Round One - Week 15 - Amateurs Teams seeded (ranked) 47 - 50 will be paired in a random draw which will take place on July 13th and the resulting matchups will be posted here. Note : This round of the cup was abandoned due to a lack of teams. Round Two - Week 16 - Third Division vs Second Division The 2 Winners from Round One and the teams seeded 33 to 46 will be matched against teams seeded 17 to 32. A random draw will take place on July 20th and the resulting matchups will be posted here. Note: there will be a one week break between rounds 2 and 3 due to the low number of games during all-star week. Also Note: Because we only have 47 teams, Peduel Offsiders will receive a bye to the next round but will still be considered Second Division for purposes of the draw in the next round. There will also be a Third place match between the losers in Round Six. Final Oranje Forever vs. Inter Somerville 115.5 : 106.5 Third place Fulham FC vs. Squadra Viola 126.5 : 85 Amendments to the rules: Amendment 1 - If Yahoo fails to report scores on games that actually took place, AND if the number of games unreported by Yahoo is 50% or greater of the total number of games actually played that week, AND if the total number of games reported by Yahoo is less than 4, THEN the Cup matches for that week will either be postponed OR the deadline for the scores will be extended. The Commissioner will make a ruling depending on the conditions at the time. Amendment 2 - If MLS postpones games so that those games are no longer played in the same fantasy week, AND if the number of postponed games is 50% or greater of the total number of games scheduled for that week, AND if the total number of actual games played is less than 4, THEN the Cup matches for that week will be postponed. The Commissioner will make a ruling with regards to rescheduling the Cup matches depending on the conditions at the time. |
