| The Golden Boot - Lucky Guess contest THE PICKS A contest where you guess which player(s) will score the most goals in the World Cup. Simply fill out this form and e-mail it to [email protected] . Put "Golden Boot" in the message subject so it does not get lost in an ocean of junk mail. All entries must be received by 1pm Mountain time (that's GMT -7 I think) Thursday May 30th. Mountain time will be used because I am tired of figuring out all these bizarre time zone adjustments for Korea/Japan. So now it's your turn to figure out what time it is, and good luck to you. Actually, if you send your picks in by the 29th you won't have to buy a watch with multiple time zones. Aside from slapping down some names and numbers, you may want to consider the following official game rules & recommendations: It is highly recommended that you select players whose national team have qualified for the World Cup. And if you are really smart, you might choose players who have been named to a world cup squad. The winner will be determined in the following manner: The entry which has the actual golden boot winner highest on their list will win the contest. In the event that more than one entry has the golden boot winner at the same spot, the entry with the closest goal projection for that player wins the contest. If a tie remains, the same process will be used for the golden boot runner up, etc... until the tie is broken. In the event that more than one player share the golden boot, the winner will be the entry with any one of those players highest on their list. In the event of a tie, having a second golden boot winner ranked higher would be the first tie breaker, having a third golden boot winner ranked higher (if there is one) would be the next tie breaker, etc... If more than one entry have multiple golden boot winners on their list at the same ranks, then the closest total goal projection between those players will be used. After that, the tie breaker is the same as described above for golden boot runners up. If there are more than one runner up, and in subsequent goal scoring ranks, then the tie breaker described under multiple golden boot winners would be used. Its a bit of a tongue twister, so if you have questions feel free to ask. Other fine print: One entry per person. All picks will be posted here on the web site on May 30th after the entry deadline.
