All about me...and I'm Under Construction
My name is Betty Sue (Moore) Mueller, born a city gal but with a heart for the country.  I met my husband, Gerry (a country boy) when we lived at Scott AFB near Mascoutah, IL.  We have been married 37+  years  and have 3 sons.  Gerry and I are 57+ and have 8 grandchildren (and one due any day now...Jan 2001) to love and keep us young.

My love for horses started with my first rocking horse at the age of two.  Through the years this love grew with every book I read (Black Beauty, Black Stallion, My Friend Flicka, etc.) and every movie or TV program I watched (National Velvet, movie version of the books, Roy Rogers, Lone Ranger, etc.).
Never did I ever dare to dream that one day I would ever own one!

There were a few occasions that I had opportunity to ride someone elses horse and even took a trail ride or two.  My love continued to grow and at the age of 50 my life took a drastic change of direction...the door of opportunity opened for me to work as a stable hand (mucking stalls) at Hillcrest Stables in Trenton, IL.

Working as a hairstylist for 25 years soon took backseat to my Sunday task of cleaning stalls and taking care of the horses.  In exchange for my labor (not labor to me) I was given lessons in grooming, tacking, and riding.  My Instructor (now my dear friend) was Annie Myers, the mother of Esther, the woman that owns Dakafe.

After working at the Stables for nearly 3 years, my husband decided it was about time we had our own horses.  He built a barn, bought a horse and that is when Annie suggested to Esther that Dakafe should retire...at the G&B Ranch.
