Eyes of the Heart

Jenny, after a long and restless night, watched from her window seat sanctuary as the early dawn began to spread fluorescent hues of pink, orange and purple from behind the mountains.  The dark, craggy silhouette sent a sudden chill through her whole being and she felt sorrow well up within her...a feeling of foreboding.  Jenny's thoughts searched for a reason.  "Why," she wondered, "do I feel the desperate need to cry?"

The past few weeks had taken their toll.  She had been working so very hard with little progress (even a couple setbacks) and she was more tired than usual.  Her special times with Blaze, their rides and quiet times, seemed to be unable to encourage her.

"Sure doesn't help when I can't sleep!" she growled to herself.  "Though I must admit, watching the sunrise does have its benefits."  And with renewed determination, she set her mind to the new day and another attempt at the 'mountain'.

"That's it!!!" she suddenly realized, "my progress is like mountain climbing with its rocks, pebbles, loose shale and hidden strongholds...many obstacles to impede my progress but always, if I look back, I can see how far I've come!"

As her thoughts began to take a positive direction, her heart began to soar like an eagle in flight, seeing forever.

"So many mountains for me yet to face!  Thank you, God, for Blaze, my very own beautiful, magnificent, miracle mountain from whose back I am able to see many wondrous sights...and for the eyes of an eagle, able to see from high places.  Lord, You have given me clear vision and it has banished the cloud of despair.  I would sing and dance for joy , if I could...better yet, I'll climb every mountain." Jenny whispered her prayer from a full and thankful heart.
