Dajarra Story

Dajarra started in 1983 with Ballantrue Missy Jazztime and Manguma Cambrian Queen.

Jazz was soon to become a Champion in the show ring, as well as a working dog on the dairy farm that we were on, and we dabbled in Obedience.

I got hooked on obedience and showing, I then purchased a Golden Retriever, and worked in obedience, until I was offered and English Setter to show, and in the meantime husband bought a GSD, which was not shown. The time came when I was offered a Australian Kelpie to show. CH Blackguard Little Boy was a very successful show dog, winning two Best in Shows at Kelpie shows. A delight to show.

It was time to move upwards, so started looking for an import from Australia, I came across Tullacrest Irma L'Douce, bred by Bill & Lynn Harrison in South Australia. Although different in type to some, Irma soon became a NZ Champion and was to start my breeding program.

I bred a few litters and in one of those litters was a delightful girl named Ashley, she quickly became CH Dajarra Calamity Jayne, her progeny included ANZ CH Dajarra Laser Lad and CH Dajarra Laserlite.

Circumstances changed and my lifestyle changed, it was time to pursue a judging career, and in 2003 I became licensed to issue CC's in Group 5 (Working/herding).

I now breed the occasional litter, follow the breed with great interest, steward, judge and, my latest venture is building a comprehensive database of Border collie registrations, which currently numbers over 80,000.( Feel free to send more.) I have help in this area, big Thank you to all who help here.
