| It is sad to say that people here in McDowell County have been hit by floods again. Less than a year ago in July, we had the worst flood in history for this area. Everyone said. But then last Thursday on May, 2, 2002 the flood that hit McDowell County outdid the one in July. The county has lost many homes and businesses. And worst of all lives have been lost. Some roads are gone. Towns are shut down. And hollows have been washed away, leaving only a few houses standing. I ask when you visit this page to please pray for our people here.
