November 2004 - Bangkok, Thailand
Daisy visited Thailand in November, before the tsunami.  Her photos arrived after the tsunami had hit many of the areas she visited like Phukit and Phi Phi Island.  She loved her trip there and especially remembers all the children that were living practically on the beach.  Two months after her trip, her postcard arrived.  How did it ever survive the tsunami?
Hello from Thailand!

The people here are so warm and friendly and the food is yummy.  I've visited many temples, seen lots of Buddhas and even met a monk.  Yesterday I rode an elephant up and over a mountain. The ride was a bit bumpy but a lot of fun.  I also visited the beautiful beaches of southern Thailand.  It was a bit too hot there for this beagle, but very beautiful.  I did enjoy Monkey Beach where I saw some adorable monkeys.  They're a bit pushy when bananas are involved but very playful.
Bye!
Love, Daisy

The highlight of Daisy's trip was a ride on an elephant.  She thought it would be a quick 10 minute ride.  Instead, it was over an hour through the jungle to reach her destination.  Daisy quickly took this shot and hopped off the fence before the curious elephant reached out with its trunk. >
