Next stop on the trip is Kyoto, the former capitol of Japan from 800 AD to 1850s (timing is rough). There are many, many temples and shrines here - almost 2,000 of them, large and small.
Kyoto is also home to the Geishas... ladies who are trained in the art of song, dance, instruments, and socializing. The picture in the front is of the Golden Pavilion and maikos - geishas-in-training.
