The Interview
****If you are reading this interview hoping to get some inside info on the show before it's over, forget it. We did it for the music not tv audiences. Read this only if you wanna hear about Flickerstick as a band. I'm serious. Go somewhere else for the other shit!****

When this interview started, it was Cory, Dominic & Rex. Then Brandin came in, Dominic left and then after a couple of quotes Brandin parted ways and Cory & Rex finished this interview. This is not an odd occurrance when doing an interview with a band of any sort. Just so everyone knows, Fletcher is alive and well, I saw him early on in the evening, no actual quotes are available from him here however. And in case you're wondering I'm on drink number nine...whooo....
Daisy: So what was it like in Dallas? What kind of bands were you playin with there, where did you guys fit in exactly in your scene?

Cory: Dallas has a really diverse music scene, the people from Texas really get into music and really get into bands and really have a good time.

Dominic: (stealing my drink...bastard) Oh shit! What are you drinkin'?

Daisy: Gin...

D: Oh shit! That is straight up!(cough...)

C: Pretty much bands in Texas get drunk all the time. We were doin' really well, and were havin a good time. Drawin in Texas, drawin' in Dallas before we were ever on the show. There's a lot of bands in Dallas there are similar to us, I think we fit in really well there. As far as music scene in Dallas is concerned, we're like ...well I don't wanna say we're one of the top bands, but I mean like as far as people comin out, I mean drawin', a lot of people come out to see us play.

D: The music scene is very under-rated in Dallas.

Rex: Plus, we don't get a lot of major, indie rock type bands that come through. Like every two weeks it'll be like "Oh there's a great show." So basically everyone who wants to go see a band, they go see local bands. So all the bands benefit.

Daisy: Where did you come from musically, and where are you going?

D: I can asnwer this question simply, Cory's influences are Vanilla Ice...

  C: Shut the fuck up.

D: I like AC\DC, Rex likes anything British.

C: My influence is the greatest band that ever exisited, The Cure

D: This is funny, you're as drunk as we are.

Daisy: Okay, is this version of Flickerstick, the one I saw tonight, anything like the Flickerstick that formed in 1997?

C: I'm the only one who can really answer this question, cause I was the only one in the band when it started. I can tell you emphatically this band is the exact polar opposite of the one in 1997. Brandin and I have actually played toghther for a long time, but when we started this particular band in 1997, we were doing a lot harder stuff.

Brandin: To quote Rex, it was crappy, and bringing in Dominic and bringing in Rex kind of changed our style, kind of changed our format a lot.

C: We're so happy with what we have working now. I was just talking - Brandin, about how when we started the band it was the exact oppisite of what it is now.

B: We have El Dangeroso now, and having El Dangeroso changed my life.

D: Do you have an El Dangeroso, everyone should have an El Dangeroso in their band, their great as pets.

C: He has an action figure coming out, you wind him up and he falls down... and it doesn't carry much equipment.

Daisy: If Flickerstick was a band playing in the 1950's, 1960's,1970's or 80's who would you have been playing and touring with in each decade.

  B: Pink fuckin' Floyd.

  C: 50's Elvis, 60's Beatles,70's Pink Floyd, 80's The Cure....

  B: Elvis!!?

R: I would say Buddy Holly

  B: ..or Chuck Berry

  R: The 60's The Who, I would say MC5

  C: 70's Led Zepplin

B: No, no the 70's is the Stones

R: 80's The Cure or Echo and the Bunnymen, 90's Oasis

  C: Guided by Voices

Daisy: Last question Buddy boys.

  C: Right on.

Daisy: Now that everybody see's you on T.V. so much, what are your favorite Rock N' Roll movies, Videos, etc..

R: "The Kids are Alright", kicks ass, "A Hard Days Night" of course

  C: "Montaray Pop" that's awesome, Woodstock's awesome..

R: Woodstock's good, I don't really like it for the music, I like it for the crowd.

C: Yeah, like when they show them out bathing in the river, yeah, their butt ass naked.

R: ... the promoters are all trippin' on acid ( indistinguishable babble...), "Don't Look Back" the Dylan movie.

C: A new one we've gotten into is Depeche Mode 101. Depeche Mode's one of my favorite bands of all time. I like it a lot. The new Oasis... ( can't hear the title) it's got this whole behind the scences, sound check shit...I'll be completly honest, my favorite musical program of all time is "Bands on the Run"

At this point Rex spilt his drink on himself, and we decide to wrap up the interview. Cory sums up everything neatly by saying Daisy (thats me..) is the best interviewer EVER. Why thank you Cory... Next time this band is in town, I better see more of all you fuckin' hipsters there. You're passing over one of the better acts that come through this damn town, you're missin out.

In a little side note here, let me just say this about the unfairness of the money grubbing fucks who did this show... when I woke up in the morning (with a beauty of a  hangover), and looked at the ticket stub next to my bed, I didn't know where it came from. Why? BECAUSE THERE WS NO FUCKIN' MENTION OF FLICKERSTICK ANYWHERE ON IT!!! Note to self...in order to make money never give the talented band any credit....
