My grandfather was a highly respected man who practised Islam closely during his term as 'Penghulu'. If you have connections, ask someone about *Penghulu Djais who was of Demak origin. They'd tell you about this noble *village head who reigned for 39 years in Sungei Ungar, Indonesia.

The political reign is said to last 7 generations.
He was succeeded by many of his relatives.
Now my second cousin,
Abang Yen or Huzrin Hood is Pak Bupati of Kepulauan Riau
(Mayor of the
Riau Islands).
This is Me & Nyai, taken a few months before she passed away.
Yayi  passed away when I was 5. Altho I spent such a short time with him, memories of my first love will always be vivid.
His lady love however, my grandmother, was with us 19 years longer.

Sadly, she had left us just a week before I had come home from Australia for good.Yayi is buried in Singapore whilst Nyai in
Johor - where they'd spent the final years of their lives respectively. May Allah bless their spirits. Amin.
Yayi (with tie) as Penghulu.
