Drugs.
Alcohol causes aggression and violence. Bars are smashed, homes are wrecked, bones are broken, cars are crashed and lives are ruined. This is legal. Next, the problems to society caused by cannabis: Nobody wishes to fight or vandalise because they can't be bothered, they're too stoned to care, they're not going to drive as dangerously as a drunk person; more likely, they'll be parked-up by the side of the road, trying to get the airbag out to see what colour it is! The difference is money, the economy. Think how much business there is in clearing up after a drunken brawl or a drink-driving smash-up; cleaners, furniture repairers, window glazers, car mechanics, surgeons; the list goes on. It's a whole business, there's money to be made. There's not much money in pot smoking. Nothing has to be fixed, there's no money made. Maybe a few more armchairs and cheesy nibbles are sold, but it's nothing in comparison to the circulation of wealth caused by alcohol consumption. Cannabis does less damage to the smoker physically than does tobacco. |
