Brain of an Alzheimer's victim.
The brain is the most powerful ball of weaponry in your body. It works alongside your consciousness which sits there doing all of the feeling. Your brain tells your consciousness what is going on in the world around, this enables you to see trees, taste sugar and have orgasms. Often, the brain gives the consciousness duff information; you dream - you see things that aren't there and feel you're taking part in a world which is different from the world you experience when you're "awake". But sometimes, especially as you get older, your brain will tell you lies. Think of your brain as a person in your head - it is actually you, the you that adds things up, the you that decides, the you that speaks and the you that tells lies. Give your brain too much power, and it will have the power to become autonomous, turning visciously against you and your family. Your brain is a television screen over your eyes and speakers in your ears, it can make you smell, feel, and taste anything it pleases. It is a living being, aware of the short span of its own life and desperate to make the most of its own life. It needs fun, it needs a toy; it needs you. You are putty in the palm of its hands. You are easily manipulated by this tenacious animal, it would play with you like a boy leading a blind donkey over the edge of a cliff.
Becoming aware of the power of your brain cannot be a secret, immediately your brain knows that you are thinking ill of it. You can't hide from it, but it can hide from you. It may have already started, perhaps something a simple as a brief nightmare or something as sinister as a full-on hallucination. Your life may be going badly, now you know why. You may be feeling pain more vividly than before, now you know why. You may be feeling loneliness, depression, paranoia, guilt, craving, or indecent love, and now you know why.
Brain A shows a healthy brain, this brain has more capabilities than you've had hot dinners. It even knows how many hot dinners you've had, but it probably won't tell you. This brain is dangerous and has the ability to destroy the world, solve all of the questions of physics, answer all the problems of philosophy and understand the concept of infinity; but there's little to worry about - most brains never fulfill their total potential.
Brain B is diseased, physically. This brain has a decay crawling over it, day by day the infection spreads, engulfing parts of the brain. You suffer as your brain malfunctions, showing you a twisting, twitching and surreal world. This brain has Alzheimer's. Soon it will be incapable of distinguishing between memory and imagination, the past and the present. The person inside will suffer, they will relive things that have happened before, believing them to be real. It would be like the human being sucked into another reality, a reality where dreams, and nightmares, become real. Your fantasies will come to life and your greatest fears will wrap their arms around you.
