The first time they�d held each other so close. The first time they�d vocally admitted their feelings for one another. The first time they realised what true love was.
It wasn�t fireworks. It was nowhere near being the most amazing kiss either had ever received. But it was more than that, because they were sharing it with each other.
They got to indulge in something so beautiful, so personal, so intimate with one another, and it was the best moment ever because of that fact.
It was spontaneous and completely out of the blue. But isn�t that the best way some things happen?
They were angry at each other when it happened. Dom had said something stupid (doesn�t he always?) and Billy got offended. But that�s they�re dynamic. Dom does something dumb, and Billy gets defensive. Maybe that�s why they�re so good together.
Anyway, this kiss. It was�amazing.
It was raining really badly, and it was late at night after we�d abandoned the bars for home. The four of us had shared a cab, and Billy�s place was first. Dom must have said his stupid thing in the cab, when I wasn�t listening, because as soon as the car stopped out front of Billy�s apartment, Bill leapt from the car as if it were on fire.
Dom chased him, and they fought on the yard. Words like �stupidity� and �lame� and �embarrassing� were thrown around (from Billy), and Dom rebutted with words like �retard�, �whatever�, and the phrase �I know you are but what am I.�
Billy must�ve just had enough, because he walked away. And by this time, they were thoroughly soaked.
But, Dominic being Dominic, went after him, grabbed him as he reached the doorstep, turned him around and just kissed him.
Everything seemed to stop, to stand still. The rain stopped bucketing down, the cabbie stopped honking his horn, the dog down the road stopped howling. Everything ceased to exist while their lips were together.
It was the most amazing thing. Maybe because everyone had waited for so long for them to finally realise how they felt. But maybe it was more than that. Maybe it was so amazing because it was like, fate was right. The world made sense when Dom and Billy were together.
It didn�t lead to sex, or to a public declaration of love. When does that ever happen outside of the movies?
But it did lead to something that both of them had craved since meeting each other. It led to togetherness. It led to a beautiful relationship, where both of them could be completely relaxed and at home with each other.
Suddenly, nothing else mattered. Not the insults that were thrown at them every day about being together. Nothing mattered when they were in each other�s arms.
Pure happiness can be something that�s hard to find. And if, by some strange stoke of luck you find it, you�re so scared you�re gonna lose it, you never stop to appreciate it. Dom and Billy found that happiness that night on Bill�s doorstep. They found out what it meant to be in love, and to be happy.
Now, as I sit and write this out in my journal, I wonder it�ll be my turn to experience this love, this happiness. When do I get to shout it from the rooftops? �I�m Orlando Bloom and I�m in love!�
Maybe it�s time I tell Viggo how I feel.
